Oklahoma Performing Arts - OPA Creatively Growing Character! Oklahoma Performing Arts - OPA
a non-profit, community focused org.

At Oklahoma Performing Arts, we teach character through performance. Founded in 1996, Oklahoma Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that teaches arts education programs for children ages 3 to 19. OPA offers ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, music, voice, acting and technical theater, as well as public performances, in diverse theatrical genres. Oklahoma Performing Arts takes a unique approach to arts education. In addition to teaching students how to dance, sing or perform on stage, OPA uses performing arts to help students develop the emotional intelligence, tenacity and grit they need to truly succeed in life. OPA uses a social-emotional learning (SEL) based performing arts curriculum to strengthen children’s emotional control, improve their self-concept, and empower them to establish and maintain healthy relationships. As a result of the SEL-based arts education, Oklahoma Performing Arts produces graduates who are resilient individuals with grit and good character.

“But they've never taken dance before.”

Good.

They don't need to arrive knowing ballet vocabulary.

They don't need to know which foot goes where.

They don't need to already have coordination, musicality or classroom confidence.

That's what we're here to teach.

Pre-Performers and Inter-Performers at OPA learn through structure, repetition, imagination, music, movement and plenty of joy.

Your child doesn't have to arrive ready.

They arrive to learn.

Pre-Performers | Ages 3–4
Inter-Performers | Ages 5–6

There’s something special about growing together.

This fall, adults can step into movement, creativity, and connection through OPA’s SHiNE program — all while their little one learns just down the hall in our Pre-Performer lessons for ages 3–4 happening at the very same time.

While you SHINE, they begin discovering rhythm, imagination, confidence, and joyful structure in a space created just for them.
At Oklahoma Performing Arts, we believe the arts should strengthen the whole family — creating opportunities for growth, encouragement, and shared experiences across generations.
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is grow alongside our children.

Experienced dancer or performer?

Then you already know that more classes don't automatically mean more growth.

Good training requires someone to see what you're doing, understand what you need, and know what to ask of you next.

At OPA, students aren't simply placed into a level and expected to keep up.

We teach the group—but we see the individual.

Your experience matters.

Your foundation matters.

And your next challenge should matter, too.
