Today, on Nurses Day 2026, we proudly celebrate the heart of health care and the foundation of our mission at Intimate Pathways Center for Sexual Health. This year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” perfectly reflects the compassion, advocacy, expertise, and courage our nurses bring to women and families every single day.

To all of the nurses who serve through Intimate Pathways — thank you. Your dedication to restoring dignity, supporting healing, and empowering women through some of life’s most difficult transitions changes lives in ways words cannot fully express.

We extend special appreciation to the nurses who help guide our mission and vision:
✨ Board Members Yonna Creeson & Kris Schueren
✨ Executive Director Traci Owen
✨ Members of our Nursing Advisory Council: Stacia Lipe, Elaine Justice, and Dr. Peramen Parker

And with great excitement, we also welcome the newest member of our team, Dr. Marloe Esch, to the Intimate Pathways family!

Today we honor not only what nurses do, but who they are — advocates, educators, healers, leaders, and the future of compassionate care.

Happy Nurses Day from all of us at Intimate Pathways Center for Sexual Health. 💙

What a meaningful and energizing weekend on the road for Intimate Pathways!

We began in University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing for the 2026 Nursing Research Day, where Traci had the honor of participating in a panel discussion alongside nationally recognized nurse researchers. The conversation focused on the impact and advantages of community partnerships in clinical research—an area that is deeply aligned with our mission and work.

From there, we traveled to Dallas for the LUNGevity HOPE Summit 2026, where Traci spoke with lung cancer survivors about the often-overlooked effects of cancer treatment on sexual health, intimacy, and couple relationships. Called “Cowgirl Ways: Keeping the Campfire Burning” It was a powerful opportunity to provide education, validation, and practical tools for caring for oneself, one’s partner, and the relationship through survivorship.

We are incredibly grateful for the invitations and warm hospitality from:

Dr. Pearman Parker
Dr. Jocelyn Anderson
Dean Sarah Rohodes
Christie Griffith
Ann Stegall

…and to the teams at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and LUNGevity Foundation for creating spaces where these important conversations can happen.

We’re returning home inspired, encouraged, and even more committed to advancing sexual health as an essential part of whole-person care.

Yesterday was a BIG day for us! I was a co-speaker with 3 other powerful women to speak on the power of community partnerships between clinicians and researchers at UAMS Nursing Reseach Day.

AND….

I got a glimpse of the results for the EMBRACE trial and they are highly positive! No details can release until the paper publishes BUT the ladies that participated in the study were all in and my research team is growing a loud and passionate voice!! I feel such pride in the work we are doing! 💜

Oh, Little Rock, we’re baaack! Shared a meal and some great trivia competition with an awesome group of UAMS women who use their intelligence to make the world a better place! The powerful Dr. Parker and I will be co-speaking tomorrow at the UAMS Nursing Research Day on the value of community partnerships.

AAAAAANNNNDDDD

Tomorrow I get to hear the outcomes of the EMBRACE Protocol. These outcomes represent ELEVEN years of my life walking beside countless women, men, and couples navigating the aftermath of cancer - body, mind, and intimate relationship. EMBRACE represents a shift toward reclamation.

My honey and I have been using these conversation cards to spark convo that isnt about our busy practice, family, kids, house, etc. We both are really enjoying this particular set because the questions are geared towards long-term couples.

We do 3-4 cards every couple of days over a shared meal, time on the back porch, or the bath tub.

This card was from saturday and my husband came to a quick answer…

Politeness with idiots/aholes and worry of others opinions of me. Now, I am a lover and healer… but I am also better at holding boundaries out of respect for myself, but he is spot on. As usual, my man gets me to my core. 🤔💥💜

What about your answer? Ask your honey, too!

This Women’s History Month, Traci reflects on the nurses who paved the way—those who showed up with courage, compassion, and a willingness to care for the whole person.

Their legacy didn’t just shape a profession—it shaped the way we care for women today.

💬 “The Nurses Who Came Before Me” is a powerful reminder of where we’ve been… and why this work matters now more than ever.

What an incredible honor today for our own Executive Director Traci A. Owen, RN, AASECT-Certified Sexuality Counselor - Supervisor, to present at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Forum Series!
This prestigious monthly education series typically features nationally renowned PhD/MD-level clinical experts from across the country. Today marked a meaningful milestone — the first time a non-PhD/MD clinician was invited to present and the first time a nurse was invited to speak.
Traci’s presentation reflects the growing national recognition that oncology sexual health is an essential component of whole-person cancer care. As a nurse and clinical leader, her voice represents the interdisciplinary future of survivorship research and patient-centered innovation.
We are deeply grateful to:
• Dr. Antino Allen, PhD for leading the Cancer Forum Series and for the invitation
• Dr. Michael Birrer, MD, PhD, Director of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, for his leadership and support
• Dr. Pearman Parker, PhD, MPH, RN for her fierce warrior like advocacy, leadership amd passion
• Dr. Sarah Rhoads, PhD, DNP, APRN Dean of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing, for her leadership and support of nursing excellence
• The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing
• The entire team at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute for their gracious hospitality.
Thank you for your commitment to advancing oncology sexual health research and improving quality of life for patients and survivors.
Progress happens when institutions elevate diverse clinical voices — and today was a powerful example of that progress in action.
