A beautiful evening celebrating the Sugar River! 🎨🌿

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of LSRWA’s Twelfth Annual Juried Art & Science Exhibit & Fundraiser, Seasons of the Sugar River — “Almost In Between.”

The gallery features beautiful 2-D and 3-D artwork inspired by the Sugar River and its surrounding watershed, offering a unique perspective on the landscapes and places we work to protect.

Visitors can also explore LSRWA’s science exhibit, featuring work from our interns and highlighting the research, conservation, and education happening throughout the watershed. We were also excited to have Three Waters Reserve, Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy, and USRWA represented with tables in the science exhibit!

The exhibit is open through October 2 at the Monroe Arts Center, so there’s still plenty of time to stop by, enjoy the artwork, and learn more about the Sugar River watershed! ..

Our interns have been hard at work removing Japanese Hedge Parsley from areas at our Field Station Headquarters, Three Waters Reserve! 🌿

Japanese Hedge Parsley is an invasive plant that spreads quickly, outcompeting native wildflowers and grasses while reducing habitat quality for wildlife and pollinators. By removing this invasive species, our team is helping restore healthy native plant communities and protect the biodiversity that makes Three Waters Reserve so special. 🌼..

Explore a stunning collection of 2-D and 3-D artwork from more than 20 talented artists, all inspired by the beauty of the Sugar River. Alongside the artwork, discover interactive science exhibits showcasing the important conservation work of LSRWA and our watershed partners.

2026 LSRWA Annual Meeting Recap 💧🌿

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Lower Sugar River Watershed Association Annual Meeting at Three Waters Reserve!

It was a wonderful day spent bringing together members, partners, and community supporters to celebrate our shared commitment to protecting and improving the Sugar River Watershed.

Throughout the meeting, attendees heard updates on LSRWA’s ongoing projects and future initiatives, enjoyed insightful presentations from our guest speakers, recognized outstanding contributions through awards and acknowledgements, and explored the landscape during field activities. Together, we reflected on the progress we’ve made while looking ahead to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, shared their expertise, and continues to support our mission. Your partnership, passion, and dedication are what make this work possible.

: Understanding Wastewater 💧

Every day, water is used in our homes, businesses, farms, and industries. Once used, this wastewater carries a variety of materials and pollutants that must be properly managed before returning to the environment.

Wastewater can come from many sources, including households, industrial facilities, agricultural activities, and stormwater runoff. Protecting our waterways starts with understanding where our water comes from, and where it goes after use.
