Safe Corners Street Outreach

Safe Corners Street Outreach Our purpose is to prevent and intervene in gang and youth violence. Safe Corners Peace Advocates provide outreach services to area youth.

Safe Corners is a street outreach program that is designed to reduce violence, create the opportunity for peace, and pave the way for youth in the community to connect to positive relationships and opportunities. Peace Advocates work in the community, on the streets, in the schools, and places in the city where youth gather. Peace Advocates work to build positive relationships with youth, teach yo

uth alternatives to violence, model nonviolence, take steps to prevent retaliatory acts, and assist in mediating conflicts on the street. Peace Advocates can work to connect a youth with services in the community including mental health services, emergency services, health care, job training, educational services, social supports, and mentoring. Safe Corners can also provide training and information on mediating conflict, can provide support and education to parents about gangs and youth violence, and can provide support to victims of violence. They also help people set and achieve goals, providing jobs and development programs for youth, and support victims of violence. Our Peace Advocates wear clothing, including t-shirts and jackets, that identify him or her as a Safe Corners Peace Advocate. Peace Advocates also carry identification badges.

We’ve been moving — and almost forgot to share this one.

Last weekend, Safe Corners was proud to host a resource table at Shaw’s in West Brockton alongside multiple community partners for a Black History Month celebration. It was an afternoon filled with connection, education, and meaningful conversations with families of all ages.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, engaged with our team, and took the time to learn more about the work happening right here in our community.

We stay busy — because our community matters. 🤝

Thank you to everyone who showed up, leaned in, and engaged in the conversation. Your presence, your energy, and your commitment made the afternoon impactful.

The dialogue doesn’t end here — it moves forward with us. 🤝✨

Safe Corners spent the weekend with the community, at the Brockton Police Department's Winter Wonderland event inside City Hall—where it genuinely felt like the North Pole for a moment! From there, we continued the celebration at the Holiday Parade.

We shared winter essentials like hats, gloves, mittens, and festive crafts for the kids, and even got to hang out with the Grinch and Santa themselves.

In total, we connected with more than 300 community members and distributed over 200 winter items and supplies. A warm, joyful day all around!

💬 At SAFE CORNERS, we know community conversations create change. This week, we gathered at the Fuller Craft Museum for a workshop on Trauma-Informed Care with youth, schools, and community partners.

Led by Ed Jacoubs , the dialogue was powerful and the turnout inspiring—thanks to the dedication of our GVP Coalition Coordinator, Juliana Badaro. Deep gratitude also to Shareefa Mapp for keeping everything running smoothly.

Together, we’re creating safer spaces and building a stronger, more connected community.

✨ What an amazing weekend at Brockton’s Family Fun Day / Back 2 School Bash! ✨

Our Safe Corners Team showed up and showed love 💙 — passing out backpacks and supplies alongside our friends at the Boys & Girls Clubs , StarLines HairSalon, and Block Security.

The energy was incredible — the East Middle School - Brockton, MAl field was packed with positivity, smiles, and community spirit. 🎒📚✂️ From free haircuts to games, music, and raffle prizes, it was a day full of connection and joy.

We’re so grateful to be part of a community that comes together to support families and youth in such a powerful way. 💪🏾💚

Last Friday, we had the incredible opportunity to join Ladies Night at Walker’s Playground in Brockton, hosted by The Hoops Collaborative!

This inspiring evening celebrated the power of women in sports—complete with a motivational guest speaker, community connection, and plenty of basketball action on the court.

Programs like The Hoops Collaborative Youth Development Program are helping young women, ages 7–19, build confidence, leadership, and a love for the game—all at no cost to families.

We’re proud to support local partners who are creating spaces where girls can dream big, play hard, and rise together. 🌟
