Pennies for the Poor

Pennies for the Poor Aidan is a now 12 year old boy who since he was 7 has been trying to "collect all the pennies in the world to help the poor people."

Aidan is a humble and shy 8 year old boy who for over a year now has stepped out of his 'shell' so to speak to help make a difference in the lives of others. He has been trying to "collect all the pennies in the world to help the poor people." In his words, "It makes me sad to see they have no shelter, warm clothes, food or drinks I am collecting money to help give that to them and make them feel

loved. When I help them it makes them smile and it makes me feel good inside. If you help me make the world a better place by loving and helping the poor people I bet you would feel good too." With the money he raises, Aidan has decided to buy the poor cold water and ice cream on hot days, warm blankets, gloves, socks, hand warmers and hot beverages on cold days and he has also delivered Valentine's, gift cards for Dunkin Donuts, Dairy Queen, Subway, McDonald's, etc... Bibles, pizza and even his leftover birthday cake. He is in the process of trying to buy backpacks to fill with the items he feels are necessities to help the poor. He does this because he says "everyone needs to have hope, joy and love in their life and doing this gives that to them. When I first walk up to them, their faces are sad but by the time I leave they have a big smile on their face. They give me lectures and tell me I am giving them hope and brightening their day and they will never forget what I have done for them and that makes my heart all tingly inside. I do it to help them and because it feels good." Aidan's goal is to continue to raise enough money so he can go out on missions to help the homeless at least twice a week.
