Campello Pop Up Village 1917 On June 11, 2017 from 12 noon to 6 pm stroll "Main Street" Campello 1917 and experience history, music, food and fun - hands on!

RAIN OR SHINE - if we have rain we will move inside to the South Middle School! Funded through the generosity of MassHumanities, this partnership of the Brockton Historical Society and the Keith Park Neighborhood Association will allow you to visit Campello of 100 years ago. Speak to a new immigrant from Lithuania or Sweden at a 1917 tenement house, or to a student at the 1917 Huntington School​​.

Learn about The Silent Sentinels fighting for a woman's right to vote. Hear the story of our Public Library and Andrew Carnegie. See Model T cars from 100 years ago. Design a leaf for The Liberty Tree. Enjoy old fashioned Simpson Springs "tonics". Sit by our stage and listen to performers play the music of the day. Purchase food from a local restaurant display, and then sit in the food court area and listen to Ragtime piano, or Dixieland Jazz, or barbershop quartet. Hear the stories of immigrants who came to Brockton work work in the shoe factories 100 years ago - and compare their stories with our immigrants of today. Children can stop by three activity stations to make handmade crafts. Join in the fun of our 1917 Flag Day Picnic. Go home at 6 pm having experiences hands-on learning and history.
