This is festival season for IBiB as we take the makerspace on the road to several events. Check out what's happening and add us to your calendar:

Friday 11/7: 6 to 8 PM our last open house of the year
Saturday 11/8: 10 AM to 4 PM we will have a table at the Rochester Children's Book Festival
Wednesday 11/12: 6 PM to 8 PM learn how to make a cartoon turkey in inkscape (and we'll make stickers out of them)
Friday 11/14: 9 AM to 2:30 PM STEAM fest at RIT
Saturday 11/15: 9 AM to 5 PM the Makerfaire Maker Faire Rochester
Saturday 12/6: 10 AM to 12 Noon the Brockport Winter Market - we'll have a table at Lift Bridge Book Shop
Saturday 12/6: 6:30 PM to 8 PM is our annual fundraiser.

REMINDER: We have two exciting and free workshops coming up this week. On Wednesday 10/22 from 6 to 8 we are learning how to make rubber stamps using the laser cutter. Participants will go home with a personalized rubber stamp and bandanna they decorated. On Sunday 10/26 from 1-3 we are learning how to Write like an Egyptian by creating a variety of things using Hieroglyphs.

Reminder, we have a learn-to-solder workshop happening Wednesday night, 6 PM. This is a great opportunity to try your hand as connecting electronic components together and you'll go home with a blinky-light badge to show off your new skills.

You can learn to solder, hear about how stained glass artwork is made, build a line following robot, craft rubber stamps, and write like an Egyptian (OK, that last one might be laser-cut like an Egyptian). REMINDER - We have an open house event tonight from 6 to 8 PM. Join us at the Hart Gallery 27 (check out the new art exhibit while you are visiting) and see some awesome projects in progress from our members. One of them is a project BoB and been working on with Bill (and Santa) to help young makers get a heads up on if they are on track for a bounty of presents this Christmas.

This Friday we are having an open house where we are showing projects in progress. Come check out what members have been working on and see how you can get in on the creative action.

FRIDAY 6-8 PM at the Hart Gallery 27 (they have a new exhibit as well, so plenty to do!).

Here's one of BoB's projects - prototyping a SCARA (arm) robot design using TeacherGeek components. (Who knows, maybe we'll just make the hole robot out of TeacherGeek stuff.)

Thanks to Lift Bridge Book Shop for letting us hang out with them on Friday. We had fun chatting with shoppers about digital fabrication. We were pretty happy with how the 3D printer and demo laser cutter worked out in the open, but late afternoon sun was starting to turn up the heat a bit for the tools, so we had to wrap up a bit earlier than expected. (Thanks to Bill Ball and Grace for helping with the table.
