At our May meeting members put together little Memorial braclet kits. These were left for the VFW members to hand out during the VFW district meeting held at the post the following weekend. These bracelets serve as a reminder that freedom is not free. All gave some but some gave all! Lest we forget!

We are so proud of one of our outstanding 4-H members for completing and passing the Hunter Safety Course offered through our Extension Office! 👏🦌
This accomplishment is a great example of what 4-H is all about—learning by doing, building responsibility, and developing lifelong skills.

Through this course, our member gained valuable knowledge in safety, decision-making, and respect for wildlife and the outdoors.

Opportunities like this help shape confident, capable, and responsible young leaders, and we couldn’t be prouder to see our 4-H youth growing and succeeding!

Keep up the great work! 💚🍀

🌱🐄 North Mountain 4-H in Action! 🐓🌾

We are so proud of our amazing high school
North Mountain 4-H members who along with other FFA Members of Broadway High School, participated in the John C. Myers Elementary School Farm to School Day on April 10th! 👏

Our youth stepped up to share their knowledge, passion, and hands-on experiences with students—teaching them where their food comes from, the importance of agriculture, and the value of hard work and responsibility.

From animals to gardening and beyond, they represented with excellence!
It was a fantastic day of learning, connection, and community, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to inspire the next generation. 💚

Way to go guys!!!

We’re excited to spotlight two of our talented 4-H members Brittney Shirkey & Brycen Shirkey, that participated in a hands-on woodworking workshop hosted by Rockingham County Extension Office instructor Caroline Turner!
Held in the Broadway High School Ag Department, this workshop gave youth the opportunity to build both a wooden toolbox and a wooden game—projects they can be proud of and actually use!
Throughout the workshop, members developed valuable skills such as: 🔨 Measuring and precision cutting
🪚 Safe use of hand and power tools
📐 Problem-solving and critical thinking
🎨 Creativity and design
🤝 Teamwork and following instructions
These experiences connect directly to the heart of 4-H by helping youth “learn by doing.” Activities like woodworking foster independence, confidence, and life skills that go far beyond the workshop. From STEM learning to leadership development, our members are building more than projects—they’re building their futures!
Great job to our participants and a big thank you to Caroline Turner for sharing her time and expertise! 👏
