School has started and it's important to watch for buses and keep our students safe.

Back-to-school season is here! That means school buses are back on Montana roads, making frequent stops to pick up and drop off students.

Drivers: give yourself extra time, stay alert, and watch for children near bus stops, crosswalks and neighborhoods. When a school bus has its lights flashing and stop arm out, stop and give students the space they need to cross safely.

A little patience goes a long way toward helping every student arrive safely - at school and back home. 🚌

Please remember never to leave children or pets in your vehicle, even for a single minute. It takes only a matter of moments for the inside of a car to reach life-threatening temperatures.

With another heat wave rolling in for parts of the country, routine changes, stress or fatigue can easily cause your brain to go on autopilot.

Take steps to make sure this tragedy doesn't happen to you:
⚫ Place a stuffed animal in the front seat as a reminder to check the back
⚫ Put an important item in the back seat
⚫ Have your daycare provider call you if your child doesn't show up for care

Stay home if you can and keep your pets inside!! Don't forget to hydrate!

Be aware of extreme heat vulnerable populations, locations, and how to avoid heat related illness. Do not leave children or pets in vehicles and remember to check on your neighbors.

Nursing is a great profession. Thanks to all nurses and nursing students!

A new orientation program created by three nurses at St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings is helping new nurses build confidence before they work independently on the floor.

"I feel better on my own after having gone through the program. And I can always reflect back and look at everything and make sure that I'm doing my job to the fullness of what's expected of me," said new nurse Kyliegh Riehl.
