Youth will:
🥗 Prepare healthy snacks
🗣 Practice conversation & communication skills
🌱 Learn about growth mindset, resiliency, values & influence
🎨 Reflect through art journaling

The Teen 4-H club will once again be sponsoring the Penguin Patch Holiday Shop, which will be held in the Courthouse Lobby during the Christmas Stroll on Thursday, December 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Penguin Patch Holiday Shop helps children purchase their own special holiday gifts for family and friends. Some of the items that will be available to the children are jewelry, tools, plaques, coffee mug; a wide variety of gifts for the children to choose from.

Across the U.S., nearly 40% of farmland is owned by people over 65, meaning up to 370 million acres could change hands in the next 20 years.

In Montana, farms and ranches declined by more than 10% between 2017 and 2022, as operations consolidate or vanish beneath development. Behind these numbers are families making tough choices about legacy, livelihood, and love of their land.

This fall, Reframing Rural returns with Season Four: Succession Stories, a five-part series featuring Montana families who are planning for the future of their farms and ranches.

From Valier to Ekalaka, Chester to Winnett and Malta, we’ll hear how the Curry, Hammond, Bruski, and Fritz families, and rancher Sig Pugrud are navigating the challenges of passing land across generations.

The Season Four trailer drops October 27. Episodes begin November 11, streaming weekly wherever you listen to podcasts.

Season Four is made in partnership with Winnett ACES, with support from the Plank Stewardship Initiative, World Wildlife Fund, Headwaters Foundation, and American Farmland Trust.
