The membership of ARDA is comprised of highly skilled volunteer K9 search and rescue teams that are trained to locate missing persons in wilderness (area), disaster, human remains, and water search and rescue/recovery missions.

WI-TF1 Update from Texas:
The Human Remains Detection team in Texas is getting a lot of steps in each day, and the K9s are hard at work getting a lot of strong hits while searching their area.

Our second group of WI-TF1 members have been searching 12 miles of the Guadalupe River and using Search and Rescue Common Operating Platform (SARCOP) to provide valuable field data about findings in the areas. This team has been partnered with K9s from North Carolina and Virginia Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue for targeted searches along the river.

Both teams are doing well and in good spirits despite the heartbreaking and mentally challenging days as they continue to search for those still missing. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts as WI-TF1 continues their work in the Texas Hill Country. 🙌

Activated: FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency has activated VA-TF1 to support the response to the Texas floods. Our team is sending three canines and a search manager and will depart this evening.
