Oh, my! Alert Print House & More! The Grinch is stealing their lights!

A small cohort of young children came desperately begging for "a big step stool to stop the Mr. Grinch. Help! He's stealing the lights! ... Shame on you, Mr. Grinch! Shame on you! ... Sshhh. We can be quiet and take them out of his hands..." We could not agree more.

Out of the mouths of babes: Merry Christmas!

Stop the Grinch by sharing the Christmas spirit in hope, love, and joy. Smile, it's contagious. Share a moment and make some memories.

Yes! We could not agree more!

Gift ideas anyone?

Perhaps a gardener's tool kit and bench for our littles to share and learn how to grow and tend their own gardens?

Tickets to a home and garden show?

Coupons from our favorite gardeners-in-training for 10 minutes of weeding, watering, or raking?

A greenhouse kit?

A small, portable sunshade?

New gardening gloves that carve into the ground but protect our hands?

Growing and blooming together are the best gifts of all!

Did you know? Get outside, find some nature-crafted masterpieces and share them in awe with all of us.

Wasps and hornets are not made to endure cold temperatures, making winter a good time to safely take down their empty nests. This fantastic example of nature engineering is now on display inside the Ray Harral Nature Center!

Where are the hornets? As winter begins, the queen lays eggs that become new queens and male drones. Once these mature and mate, and temperatures drop, all die except the fertilized young queens. The young queen hibernates over winter under ground, emerges in spring, and lays the eggs for a whole new colony!

Bristow Artisans and Gardeners Market, The Wild Jennys, and Grooming by Ann recently donated to BPS' nutrition program and have challenged all of Bristow to join them in giving to help feed Bristow's future: its children. Anytime is a great time to donate! If you can't do it this holiday season, January and February are only a few weeks away.

What do unmanicured, naturally landscaped, native grass and wildflower, edible and floral lawns have in common?

They're better for nature, the environment, the climate, the planet, and our health, of course!

In the last decade as we've all become more health conscious and environmentally aware, we've learned of the bountiful health and environmental benefits of choosing nature crafted over manufactured in all facets of our lives, including in our homes and yards. No garden or lawn is too small an area to add native or edible plants and wildflowers for pollinators, animals, and ourselves. πŸŒ±πŸ€πŸ›πŸ¦‹πŸ

Want to witness the return of birds, lizards, or horned toads? Ditch pesticides and lawns in favor of native plant species, natural landscapes, and wildflowers, letting them grow freely and go to seed.

Want to lower your blood pressure and cortisol levels? Get outside, breathe fresh air, listen intently to the birds, and watch nature flourish in your own yard.

Try it in the coming year. We know you won't 🐝 disappointed!

How cool and another reason we love trees! Arbor Day offers a reminder to plant a tree, but any day is a great day to learn about trees and find ways to nurture a healthier planet for future generations.

Here’s a DIY project by Christopher from Norway. He show us how to build a hinged hoophouse for a raised bed. It’s a simple and cheap build that gives your raised bed the little extra. He spent about $100 for materials, and takes about 3 hours. Part list: 1,5Γ—4 inch untreated wood 9 x 2 […]

What greater gift may we offer than to plant seeds of hope, love, care, and compassion in Bristow's children?

You, too, can help children grow and flourish into compassionate, loved, attentive, and generous adults (and perhaps future farmers and gardeners) through your generosity this holiday season. Please adopt a child or a few and help nurture them as they grow wherever they may be planted.
