June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to recognize the invisible battles many first responders, veterans, and community members face every day. At 421 Area Emergency Services, we encourage open conversations, support, and understanding for those living with PTSD. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and no one should have to face these challenges alone. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

🇺🇸Memorial Day Weekend🇺🇸

421 Area Emergency Services is having a productive weekend with our annual “Fill The Boot” Fundraiser road block. As well as, the privilege to work alongside Observation K**b Park to take part in their golf cart parade and assist with the setting off of fireworks. We always appreciate this opportunity to connect with the community we serve!

This is also a wonderful opportunity to speak to a firefighter for information about joining our department! We have roles to suit everyone!

Today, on National Firefighters’ Day, we proudly recognize the men and women of 421 Area Emergency Services Volunteer Fire Department who answer the call—day or night—without hesitation.

Our volunteers are more than firefighters. They are neighbors, friends, and family members who commit themselves to protecting this community. Whether it’s responding to structure fires, wildland incidents, motor vehicle accidents, or medical emergencies, they show up ready to serve with courage, professionalism, and heart.

This day is also a time to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their legacy continues to inspire everything we do.

To our members:
Thank you for your dedication, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe.

To our community:
Thank you for your continued support of 421 Area Emergency Services VFD. We are proud to serve you.

421 Area Emergency Services Volunteer Fire Department continues to prioritize training and readiness to better serve our community.

This week, members trained with our new CMC rope rescue kit, focusing on low-angle rope rescue scenarios. Crews worked through essential skills including proper rigging, anchor selection, patient packaging, and safe movement across uneven terrain. These scenarios simulate real-world incidents such as assisting injured hikers, accessing remote areas, and performing rescues where traditional access is limited.

Training like this ensures our personnel remain confident, efficient, and prepared to operate in challenging environments. We are committed to continually improving our capabilities so we can provide the highest level of service when our community needs us most.

As always, we appreciate the continued support from those we serve. 🚒

Join us in congratulating Firefighter Cooper Harris on a major accomplishment!

Cooper has successfully completed and passed his IFSAC/ProBoard Firefighter I certification, marking an important milestone in his fire service career. This certification represents countless hours of training, dedication, and a commitment to mastering the fundamentals of firefighting.

We’re proud to have Cooper as part of the team and look forward to seeing his continued growth in the fire service.

421 Area Emergency Services Volunteer Fire Department and Hickory Tree Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire earlier today.

Engine 401 arrived on scene to find a single-story garage fully involved with fire. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack, deploying two 1¾-inch handlines to suppress the flames.

Due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of responding personnel from 421, Hickory Tree, and East VFD, the fire was brought under control quickly, preventing further extension to nearby structures.

All units operated efficiently on scene, and no injuries were reported. After ensuring the area was safe and conducting overhaul operations, all units were cleared and returned to service.

We would like to thank all responding personnel for their professionalism and dedication. As always, we encourage the public to practice fire safety and report emergencies immediately.
