Hi Everyone!

Believe it or not, summer camps are almost over! The Bristol Recreation Department and Hub Teen Center want to thank all participants, parents, volunteers, and MAUSD Summer Meals Program for a great season!!

It's time for us to begin getting ready for the incoming school year. As such, the Hub will be closed from Monday, August 17th - Tuesday, August 25th.

We will reopen on the first day of school on Wednesday, August 26th from 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM.

Hi Community!

We're letting the teens and parents know that there will be no drop-in hours on Thursday, July 30th this week.

Camps are in full swing and there will be no available adult that day. We appreciate your understanding and we will be open Friday, July 31st for normal hours.

Hi, Everyone!

The Hub Teen Center will be closed on Thursday, July 2nd and Friday, July 3rd. There will be no summer camps or teen drop-in hours on these days. We will resume our normal hours on Monday, July 6th.

The skatepark will be open for skateboarding, scootering, rollerblading, etc. on Thursday, July 2nd. Thank you for your understanding and we wish everyone a safe 4th of July holiday!

Greetings!

A quick update on the Skatepark :

For all that use it, the Bristol Hub Skatepark will be CLOSED FOR RESURFACING AND SEALING Sunday evening through Wednesday afternoon. We have Veilleux Sealcoating coming down to clean the asphalt, rubberize cracks and seal the surface on Monday morning - the surface needs to cure, please stay clear and do not walk, ride or cross any barriers until they are taken down on Wednesday.

I hope in the weeks to come you'll stop by and see the improvements we are making at the Hub Skatepark!

Stay on the lookout for a GRAND REOPENING very soon!

The Skatepark WILL BE OPEN for the 3rd and 4th of July. (If you have any questions feel free to email me or message us here!)

*Skatepark Update!*

The Skatepark is closed today- Sunday JUNE 28 at 4:00 Pm till June 30th for the top coat application to the asphalt.

Please stay off the park so we can have the best surface to wheel on. Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, and rad people who have helped this project along the way!

Dear Community Members,

The Hub staff have been hard at work with many projects ranging from finishing safety upgrades to the skate park, to running drop-in hours, extended hours, and more.

Now that summer vacation is here, the staff will be taking Monday, June 15th off to recharge their batteries in preparation for the AWESOME upcoming summer camps and resetting the Hub.

We are excited to host PoemVillage Wordcraft Workshop in partnership with Lawrence Memorial Library for both Youth and Teens. If you have a love or interest in writing or know someone who does, please pass this along!

Explore and compose your own poems with local poet, Elaine Pentalari in this special 1.5-hour workshop!

Participants will get to work on Somersaulting Color Poems, using strong visual imagery and simile to express an intangible idea (such as Fun, Peace, Beauty, War, Love), as well as Preposterous Preposition Poems.

In the second half of the workshop students will create a final and artistic version of one or both poems, either by making a simple accordion book or decorating a standard size “poetry page,” and share their poems out loud to the group if they would like to do so.
