We are excited to host PoemVillage Wordcraft Workshop in partnership with Lawrence Memorial Library for both Youth and Teens. If you have a love or interest in writing or know someone who does, please pass this along!

Explore and compose your own poems with local poet, Elaine Pentalari in this special 1.5-hour workshop!

Participants will get to work on Somersaulting Color Poems, using strong visual imagery and simile to express an intangible idea (such as Fun, Peace, Beauty, War, Love), as well as Preposterous Preposition Poems.

In the second half of the workshop students will create a final and artistic version of one or both poems, either by making a simple accordion book or decorating a standard size “poetry page,” and share their poems out loud to the group if they would like to do so.

Come by starting at 3-5:30ish and cut out some cookies, decorate and snack! (and all the other normal hub activities)

The Bristol Hub is pleased to offer another session of PREP (Personal Responsibility Education Program) to 12-19 year olds in the 5-town area on November 24th and 25th ; from 10AM to 4PM both days.

The curriculum is evidence based with the goal of arming adolescents with the knowledge, confidence and skills necessary to reduce their risk of s*xually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV and pregnancy by abstaining from s*x or using condoms if they choose to have s*x. During the classes we cover:

-Anatomy
-Menstruation
-Gender Identity and Expression
-Sexual Orientation Spectrum
-Contraception
-Consent
-Communication
-Age of consent
-Safer s*x practices for STI and HIV prevention

The program is offered in partnership with Vermont Afterschool, all youth who complete the class will receive a $125 stipend.
