Gardner Venturing Crew 6 is a coed Venturing Crew providing leadership development through outdoor adventures to teens 14-20 in Gardner, MA and surrounding communities. Venturing Crew 6 is a co-ed, outdoor oriented Venturing Crew, founded in 2003 and originally chartered as Venturing Crew 1 sponsored by VFW Post 905, in Gardner, MA. In 2019 we partnered with Troop 6 for Boys and girls sponsored by

the American Legion and changed our number to Crew 6. Meetings are held monthly on the second and fourth Monday of each month. During COVID we are meeting at 6:30 PM. New members and their parents are always welcome at our meetings. Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women ages 14 (or 13 and completed the eighth grade) through 20. Venturing seeks to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible, caring adults.

We'll be at National Night Out on Tuesday evening at City Hall. Come say "hi" and learn what Venturing has to offer young people.

We hope to see you all tomorrow for our slimmed down version of the twice 🫤 rescheduled NNO event! We will host around forty vendors, the Montachusett Su***de Prevention Task Force will be providing free dinner for all participants, Prestige Hair Salon will be offering free haircuts for school aged kids and everyone will have a chance to win some amazing free raffles that include kids bikes, gift cards and some really cool gift baskets! You can get free raffle tickets by visiting our resource tables, prizes will be drawn at 6:45pm! All children can also participate in a free scavenger hunt for a chance to win a Nintendo Switch!

We're excited to share that boys troop 6 and girls troop 7006 both sponsored by the American Legion have been reorganized into Gardner's first co-ed Scout troop as part of Scouting America's new pilot for fully co-ed troops to better deliver the Scouting program to all youth and their families. Lynn Denette will serve as the Scoutmaster for the reorganized Troop 6. With support from the American Legion, our volunteer leaders are excited to begin this next chapter in the long tradition of Scouting opportunities for all youth ages 11-18 in Gardner. Gardner Venturing is thrilled to support this effort and will continue to offer adventure opportunities for young people ages 14-20 in partnership with Troop 6.

Tonight our Venturers joined the Scouts from Troop 6, Troop 7006, and Troop 4 working with the American Legion to place flags at all of Gardner’s cemeteries to honor our city’s veterans this Memorial Day.
