The Way Home

The Way Home The Way Home is a housing nonprofit that sees housing as the first step in the stabilization process Both groups discovered two things.

In 2011 a group of concerned community and church members, social service representatives, county officials, and non-profit representatives met to address the need to relocate and house people from a local homeless encampment. Meanwhile, on the ground others began showing up to connect those in need with the social services, food and clothing needed to survive. A shared passion to affirm the huma

nity of those without housing and a desire to see them housed regardless of their background and struggles. These groups began meeting, and called themselves The Way Home. We work to end homelessness in Lower Bucks County.

🔑 Reflecting on Sunday's Message: “Keys to Prospering in a Hard Place”

Even in life’s toughest seasons, God is at work. 🌿 Pastor Stacey reminded us that true prosperity comes when we:
1️⃣ Recognize that God sent us there
2️⃣ Settle there—trust that God will provide
3️⃣ Seek peace where we are
4️⃣ Pray through it all 🙏

Let’s carry these keys with us this week and trust that God is moving, even in the hard places. 💛

10 years ago a group of people caught a vision for men experiencing homelessness in Lower Bucks County. After founding The Way Home in 2012, they opened a house for 5 men who were previously residing in a tent city in the woods. A decade later, dozens of men’s lives have been transformed by simply offering a bed in a safe space.

Perhaps you are intrigued and want to know more. Perhaps you have also been impacted by the tragedy of homelessness. Perhaps you just would like to celebrate the work we have done for the past 10 years.

That opportunity is here. Next month, we are hosting a gala in Bristol to celebrate the past 10 years and look ahead at what is to come. Tickets are affordable as we want everyone to have the opportunity to celebrate with us. Please join us for a night of food, speeches, dancing, and bidding at our silent auction!

The Way Home has been changing lives for 10 years, and we would like you to come celebrate with us.

Fellow advocates and supporters,

Thank you for your continued support through the covid-19 crisis. As a quick update, our men continue to do well in our program despite the challenges of 2020. Your generosity has been instrumental in maintaining morale in the house and inspiring hope in the lives of those we serve.

One of our residents expressed the difficulty of a layoff, but he feels blessed to be in a safe place while he looks for another job.

We have seen an addiction overcome, financial situations improved, and perspectives changed all because a network of people are taking the time to help complete strangers in their time of need. You are a blessing to the men we serve as well as their families and the community at large. Thank you.

“The Way Home” is not just a housing program; it is a community of people fighting to make a change in the way society views and handles the issue of homelessness. You are a part of that community, and we could not be more grateful.

Please continue to pray for us as we navigate such a difficult year. Our greatest concern is the looming eviction crisis and how we might be able to play a role to address it.

Sincerely,

Paul Clements,

Executive Director,

The Way Home

Millions of Americans who have missed rent payments due to the coronavirus pandemic could be at risk of being evicted in the coming months unless government measures to protect them are extended.

The nation's present circumstances presented us with the responsibility to help our residents through the COVID19 emergency. Not only did we achieve our goal of $1200 to cover emergency funds (i.e. rent) but managed to exceed that goal by $100! This has truly shown us the power and unity of our community, especially at such a crucial time. Excess funds were used to provide the men with appropriate personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies that will help them stay safe. Thank you for your warm responses and generous donations!

We have dedicated our resources to ensuring sustainable housing for men who are transitioning out of homelessness.

That is why we are raising $1200 to help the men pay their rent in the event of a house quarantine caused by the Covid19 virus. So far we have been able to raise $420.

If you have the ability please help us raise the remaining $780. Help fight covid19 and homelessness. It's about the community.

As many of you already know, The Way Home is based on the "Housing First" model of supportive housing. A large scale version of "Housing First" is being implemented in New Zealand. This article displays the impact Housing First model has on the people they are serving.
Worth the read!

In the lead up to the 2017 election, Labour campaigned heavily on ending homelessness, re-orienting Housing NZ's focus towards people over profit, and raising standards to ensure homes are warm and dry.
