Join the Bristol Land Conservation Trust (BLCT) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29 for a Nature and Full Moonrise stroll around Roger Williams University’s campus shoreline wetland. Explore this seldom-seen freshwater wetland and the Mount Hope Bay shoreline, where several acres of habitat support a rich diversity of native plants and wildlife. The walk follows a shell pathway with scenic shoreline lookouts and begins and ends near the RWU Sailing Center. Weather permitting, participants will enjoy watching the full moonrise in the southeastern sky.
Enter the main RWU entrance at 1 Old Ferry Rd., Bristol, RI (no need to stop and register), and continue straight to Parking Lot 11 located just past the Mail and Copy Center on the left. Walk down the hill on the right and towards the shore, passing the Sailing Center. The fee is $15 per person or a maximum of $25 per family, payable at the event. BLCT members attend for free. Become a BLCT member that evening and enjoy the benefit of free events. Payment options are cash, check, or credit card via PayPal. The rain date is Thursday, July 30.
All proceeds support BLCT’s ongoing conservation and stewardship efforts. Light refreshments will be served. Participants should wear comfortable shoes. For additional information, contact [email protected] or call 401-225-4903.
