Hello All,

I'm reaching out to our amazing community on behalf of the Rosas/Allan family. Brisbane mom Ariadne (mom of Sonny!) suffered from a brain aneurysm and was rushed to the hospital, where she received life-saving surgery. Ariadne is in recovery, and periodic updates about her post-survey progress are being posted to the Go Fund Me. For folks that know this family, they are awesome and have done tons for the community. This happened right as they planned to move, so needless to say they are in a bind and need the community's support. Links to the Go Fund Me are below. Hello, School District Community- Panorama, Brisbane Elementary, and Lipman Families!

On Sunday, December 4th, please join us for an old-fashioned meeting on the town square—in Community Park in downtown Brisbane, for a cookout and meet and greet/chat with fellow families in the District! We'll have a grill running and hot beverages to share, all before the ceremonial Festival of Lights.

We have come to the conclusion that over this past (nearly) three years of zoom meetings, limited in-person activities, and the distance we've kept since 2020—well, they've made it so much harder for us to connect with each other in person, adults and students alike. So let's safely gather outdoors, (mask up if you want!), meet each other in person, and share some food and chat to kick off the holiday season!

We'll be setting up around 3:00 PM in Community Park. The Festival of Lights begins at 5:45 PM at the Top of Visitacion Avenue and continues at 6PM at the Community Park- where Brisbane Parks and Rec will be providing cocoa and holiday cookies!

Hope to see you there- we have lots to catch up about!

Just a quick public service announcement from your friendly, neighborhood Parent Teacher Association:

The Vitalant Brisbane Community Blood Drive is next Tuesday, and they've still got 25 slots to fill. As I've mentioned before, donations are down across the country. Blood, plasma, and platelets are life-saving across the board from victims of traumatic injury to cancer patients. People of all ages with a huge variety of conditions can live because of your donation.
Every unit we can contribute as a community will have a huge impact.

The superintendent sent this out in his community letter last night. This is YOUR opportunity to learn more about the discussions between the Brisbane School District, the CIty of Brisbane, Jefferson Union (our high school district), and the Bayshore School District (our neighbor school district to the north).
In this joint public meeting this afternoon (Wednesday, October 14th @ 4:30 PM). The four entities will discuss and share ideas surrounding the future development in the Baylands.

This year the BEST/PTO is hosting and moderating a virtual Candidates Forum on October 15th at 7:30pm. During the forum, voters will hear statements from the candidates and their responses to questions posed by members of the community. The event will be broadcast live on WebEx at this link https://bit.ly/34aMdxD. Attendance will be anonymous, and you shouldn't need to download any software before the event, WebEx works in a web browser.

We’re asking the community to submit questions to the moderators in advance for the candidates to answer during the forum. Often, there isn't time to ask all questions, so the moderators will sort the questions by topic and combine similar questions. Questions will be collected until October 11th at 5pm and the identity of the respondents will be confidential. Submit your questions here: www.bit.ly/2020besd.

Hello district families and community members,

Just a quick reminder that the City of Brisbane’s 2018 Derby and Day in the Park is coming up on Saturday, October 6th. The BEST/PTO will once again be hosting the Beer/Wine garden at the event and we need volunteers to help set up, sell tickets, pour beer and wine, and clean up. This is our primary fundraiser for the operating costs of running the PTO (Insurance, storage, bookkeeping). We are an all-volunteer non-profit, our board members are parents of kids in the district and don’t take salaries or benefits of any kind.

Even if you can't help out in the booth, come to the event. It's open to all and a load of fun for all ages!

Hi Brisbane School District Community!

Brisbane Elementary School is hosting the 4th Annual Science Exploration day on the BES school campus for our K-5th graders. This event is designed to spark kids' interest and curiosity in the world of science. Amazing parents & various community folks come together and present the subject of their choice. Volunteers are needed to give a science presentation as well as help in the classrooms.

Event : Science Exploration Day
When : October 19, 2017 8:30 am – 11:45AM
Where : Brisbane Elementary School

Presenters need not be scientists by profession or by degree. Anyone with passion for a scientific subject and the willingness to engage children’s interest is welcome.
Our goal is to have kids experience hands-on science in an enjoyable setting.

Volunteer Opportunity: You can volunteer to be a presenter, to help presenters in the classroom, or help with event logistics. This event will not be successful without your help! To help with setup or in the classroom, click here:
