Gratitude!
Much of the Christian camping ministry lifestyle is lived at breakneck speed. May through September is jam-packed with things like cleaning the camp between groups, planning retreats, planning Day Camp, doing endless maintenance, ordering supplies, communicating with and hosting church groups, etc. It’s honestly really hard to find time to quiet yourself and reflect on, and be thankful for, everything that God is doing at Wilderness Northwest.
This season though, when the camp is so quiet that you can almost hear the brilliant orange and red maple leaves land gently on the ground is different. In October, the sounds of families laughing together and the sweet singing of groups of believers worshipping our amazing God around the campfire, get replaced by the steady sound of rain and the soft creaking of trees as they sway in the autumn breezes. In October, as Ray and I work to clear the roads of leaves and debris, it is easier to find time to reflect and be thankful.
Just this morning as I walked the camp, Stihl leaf-blower strapped to my back, the Lord brought to my mind all of the many blessings He poured out on us this past year. I thought about His faithful financial provision, the energy he supplied us with, the safety that He provided and especially the work that we saw him do in our hearts as well as the hearts of the people that He brought to the camp. One of the most powerful ways that He accomplished all of these things and caused us to “overflow with gratitude” as Paul instructs us in Colossians 2:7, is through the people that He sends and that work alongside us to make Wilderness Northwest a place that glorifies God and supports His people.
So many of you gave so joyfully to help us accomplish our mission of providing a place of “rest, recreation and restoration” and also to be a light in our community as we share the good news of Jesus. Whether you joined us in the rain to pick up sticks or dig a footing in May, or you took down a dangerous tree, or you ran a weed-eater to make the camp look beautiful, or you helped Krysten clean the camp in between groups, or you worked at Day Camp, or you came every Thursday to do maintenance, or you made and donated shirts to sell in the Trading Post, or you gave us an encouraging note or comment, or you supported the camp financially, or you prayed for us and the ministry of Wilderness Northwest-God used you to accomplish His purposes here at our little camp in 2025. How special! Krysten and I are so grateful for each and every one of you who give in your own unique way.
We look forward with great excitement, knowing that this camp belongs to God and that He is directing our steps. Thanks to every single one of you who come alongside us so faithfully each year. We can’t wait to see what God has planned for 2026!

Your brother-in-Christ,

Alan Reimann

Day Camp 2025!

Last Friday, we finished up an exciting, exhausting and wonderful week of camp and said goodbye to the 115 kids who God brought to Wilderness Northwest for a week of playing, laughing, and learning about His amazing creation and the Good News that He offers us through Jesus. What an incredible week it was watching God work!

This year our science theme was “Flight.” We all marvelled at our Creator’s amazing power and creativity in creating birds, flying insects and other flying animals. It was so awesome to learn about these creatures that are so intricate and perfectly engineered by God and that prove again and again that “by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth.” (Col. 1:16).

Our theme verse of the week was Isaiah 40:31: “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” I must say that the team of 52 folks who staffed the camp certainly proved this verse to be true. We put a lot of work into making Day Camp a special week every year where kids will encounter God in a unique way or even possibly for the first time! God ALWAYS gives us more than enough strength and energy to accomplish what He wants us to during the week of Day Camp. All praise and glory to Him!!!

I’d like to thank each person who gave up time, money or energy (or all three!) to make last week such a magical week. This camp is special because God brings special people alongside us to accomplish His purposes. Thank you to those who gave scholarships which allowed 32 kids to come to camp this year. Also thank you so much to those of you who prayed for us and for the campers during the week. Your prayers are powerful and effective! Wilderness Northwest belongs to God and He gets all the glory!

Please continue to pray for us as we strive to serve the various church groups, family groups and ministries that we’ll be hosting throughout the rest of our camping season.

Thanks!!

Alan

The day camp scholarship need has been met! Tuesday before lunch even :) Thank you all for your donations, encouragement and prayers~

DAY CAMP 2025 is happening starting tomorrow!! We have over 100 kids signed up that we planned for.
We have a **Request** Friends- the camp is in need of a few more $dollars for the scholarship fund. We have a total 32 kids right now who have requested scholarships. The cost for camp is $55 for the week per camper. If you are able to give specifically to this fund we would greatly appreciate it! If you are willing and able, there are a few options to electronically get money to the camp through Paypal (pay a friend) to email [email protected] or Venmo to #360-302-0089 as well as dropping a check in the mail. We will make sure it gets to that specific fund. One other thing- if you can't give a scholarship, no problem! We provide the kids with a snack in the afternoon and since food costs have gone WAY up, we could use help with that as well. Even $5 or $10 is a huge help. Also, a blessing is that we have many staff helpers and CIT's so we are thankful!
~THANK YOU for keeping everyone here in your prayers~ Have a great summer~
