We reinstated the foundation that was originally started by Jo Ann Mignon, Lindy Bergund, Renee Bonick, the late James McGrath, and the late Heather Gruett. They had a mission to support activit
ies that advance recreational sports and wellness in the City of Brillion and surrounding communities. We are expanding on this idea "seed" to not only support recreation, fitness, and physical wellness, but to include volunteerism and mental wellness as well. We will work with all of the businesses, civic groups, other foundations, and the schools on community service projects with fulfilling service hours, supporting already existing events, and fundraising and completing projects that fulfill our mission. Our goal is to enhance the sense of community and pride in supporting who, where we are, and how we all can make this community grow. In giving of money and time, you are committing to change, to grow. Everyone benefits physically and mentally with available indoor and outdoor activities for all seasons of the year. We will provide opportunities for volunteerism by implementing service projects with all age ranges to enhance and promote our communities. Wellness. By having areas to go and workout, relax, work on, or improve, we will be promoting physically and mentally fulfilling life purposes, thus creating more of a community and a sense of identity. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and by working together, we can all learn and grow. This foundation is not like the other great funds or foundations in our area. Overview of area foundations and civic organizations and how we will work WITH all of them:
The Brillion Area Family of Funds (BAFF) is an incredible 'savings account' type foundation that builds area money together over time to always benefit the Brillion Area by donating to worthy causes and projects, and to other area foundations. The Brillion City Community Drive (BCCD) is an incredible 'checking account' type foundation that collects money on an annual basis in October and distributes funds to community service agencies and non-profit organizations at the local, county, and state level. The awesome civic groups such as the Brillion Lions Club, the Brillion Area JayCees, and the Brillion Optimist Club all donate to and support different causes and things in our area. They are not for profits, and they themselves are not specifically foundations, even though their groups do have International Foundations that the civic groups can utilize for donation purposes. is in NO WAY competing with any of these foundations or civic groups. We are going to be the 'action' foundation if you will of our area and work with and support all of these foundations and civic groups with monetary donations, helping work on and complete projects, and sharing all of the great things they do for our community.
