Operation VEST extends our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fellow officers of Lieutenant Richard Grice of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Professional Development Section.

As residents of Suffolk County, we join our community in mourning this loss and honoring his years of dedicated service.

Our thoughts are with all those whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace, Lieutenant Grice.

🇺🇸This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We also honor those who were fortunate enough to make it back home, only later to be lost to the battle within themselves.

Let’s remember that caring for our Veterans isn’t just about honoring the fallen, it’s also about protecting the living, let’s commit to that mission, together. 🙏

MAY 22- MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND BUDDY CHECK.
Since Memorial Day is a heavy and reflective holiday for many, it is a crucial time to offer support and remind friends and family they are not alone.
It can be as simple as a phone call, a text message, or a quick drop-in.

Please also be mindful and avoid saying “Happy Memorial Day”.
Instead, say something like “Have a meaningful Memorial Day.”
It’s also not appropriate to thank a service member for their service on this day, as it is a day for remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
