Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we come together to remember and honor the lives lost to overdose in Tipton County. 💜

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make today’s service possible and to those who showed up to stand with us, support our community, and honor those we have lost.

Every chair represents a life. Every name represents someone who is loved and someone who is deeply missed.

We are so grateful for a community that continues to come together to raise awareness and recognizes how important this day truly is.

TALK🗣 THEY HEAR YOU!

About 10% of 12-year-olds say they have tried alcohol, but by age 15, that number jumps to 50%. Additionally, by the time they are seniors, almost 70% of high school students will have tried alcohol, half will have taken an illegal drug, and more than 20% will have used a prescription drug for a non-medical purpose.

The sooner you talk to your children about alcohol and other drugs, the greater chance you have of influencing their decisions about drinking and substance use.

Did you know that the potency of THC in cannabis is continuously increasing? This is particularly noteworthy considering that our brains do not fully mature until around age 25. Early use of ma*****na could significantly impact brain development.

We loved getting to stop by the Boys & Girls Club of the Hatchie River Region (Covington) this afternoon! 📚💙

As part of our Mental Health Library Project, we were able to donate 50 books focused on kindness, emotions, feelings, and so much more. These books will not only help support conversations around mental wellness, but they also provide another fun way to build literacy skills at the club!

International Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose. The substance use crisis in America has had a devastating impact on our communities, families, and individuals. It is essential that we equip our communities with the resources and support needed to prevent the fatal consequences of substance misuse and provide access to evidence-based prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services. By doing this, we can give those affected by addiction the best chance of finding long-term recovery and hope for the future.
