IT'S TIME.

From 11am-2pm today, BSTH will be at the Brighton Recreation Center participating in the annual Seed swap!

This year, we've been inundated with THOUSANDS of seeds and they're all free to you-- so stop by and chat with us. I will also be giving a short talk about seed germination for the garden and a small demo to check if your seeds are still good to plant!

Hey Friends,

First, I'd like to say I'm amazed at how many of you have stepped up to connect as many community members with access to food and goods to prepare for the scarcity that we're ALL likely to feel in the coming months. I feel like I'm a little late to the game, but it warms my heart and fills me with hope that-- like any good small town-- people are helping people.

We've updated our GET PRODUCE page with updated, local food bank and pantry locations times and contact information.

https://www.brightonsharestheharvest.org/get-produce

Please share this however you feel will get out to the most people in our community. If you see an error or would like us to add a bank/pantry not listed, please reach out to us so we can update it.

Local Food Banks & Pantry Locations

This non-exhaustive list is all up-to-date information as of OCT. 2025.

As information changes, we will do our best to keep up, but if you see an error or an organization is no longer offering donated food/goods,

please let us know so we can update our information for the community.

Just a quick announcement and a little update!

BSTH will be at Eagle View Adult Center (EVAC) on Thursday, September 11th at 10:30am giving away the produce we grew this year.
All produce was grown here in Brighton at the Bromley Koizuma-Hishinuma Farm, and we had such a wonderful time getting to know the soil and watching as things grew (or didn't grow-- RIP celery).

So, if you're able this Thursday, please stop by, chat with us and take home some produce. Feel free to grab some for anybody else you know. It's all free for our community 🙂.

Thanks and we'll catch up soon, I'm sure!

Hey y'all!

I'm looking for around 3 individuals/ families who are looking to bolster their meal plans with some extra produce (free, they just need to harvest). I'd like to help those who face food insecurity/scarcity as a priority, but right now I have a few things in the field that are ready an no good way to verify.

DM me if you'd like to nominate yourself or someone you know who can come out to Bromley Farm and harvest some produce in the BSTH Garden this week.

Right now we have:
-Pok Choy ( leafy green that's not bitter and holds up when lightly cooked or eaten raw)
-Radishes ( two types, both crisp and can be eaten raw, pickled or cooked into dishes)
-Kale ( leafy green that is usually cooked into dishes to add greens and a savory flavor)

If you know someone, let me know and we'll get them some local produce!

P.S. BSTH is operating a large Demonstration Garden this year at the Historic Bromley Farm where we'll be growing produce to give to the community as it ripens in the field. Our hope is to engage the community with answers to gardening questions like:
Will my tomatoes grow better in the shade?
How late is TOO late for snap peas?
How do I keep my garden watered in the blazing summer heat?
What are good trellis options for small spaces?

We want to cultivate your curiosity and we've finally found a place to do so! We'll be putting out a list of plants currently out in the field here soon, but stop by anytime during our hours (posted on our website) and ask us for a tour, your questions and maybe even leave with a little produce!

Thanks again, friends and I hope your season stays green!

BSTH at Brighton's Summerfest is only one week away!!!!

We'll be at Summerfest again this year with 800 potted plants and seeds ALL FREE to the community. So make some time and stop by and talk with us!

If you miss us then, come see what we're up to at the Historic Bromley Farm! We're putting our money where our mouth is and growing food in abundance to give away to the community.

If you'd like to learn more or have any questions, pm or visit us on our website!

Thank you for your support and we'll see y'all soon!

This month, we're growing 200 total:
-tomatoes
-peppers

with many more types to come as we get closer to Summerfest (beginning of June!).

Thank you for considering volunteering with us! Each year, Brighton Shares The Harvest gives out hundreds of vegetable seedlings to our community during the City of Brighton Summerfest (June 7th, 2025).
