We are so excited to have our first ever Beyond the Clover Livestock show. Beyond the Clover is an inclusive 4-H livestock experience coming to the fair this year! This is designed for youth ages 8-18 with differing abilities who want the opportunity to experience the confidence, excitement, and fun of participating in the show ring alongside supportive and experienced 4-H youth mentors. Walk with Goats - Adams County Walks Event

Join us for a fun, family-friendly Walk with Goats in Bennett at Trupp Park! Attendees will have the opportunity to walk and interact with socialized goats each accompanied by 4-H club members. This free Adams County Walks event is hosted by the Adams County SPARC Team in partnership with Adams County CSU Extension.

Update for practices tonight:

Archery - Cancelled tonight due to the weather

Air – tonight we will be doing a class in the Good Luck building at the fairgrounds at 6pm. We will be going over fundamentals, safety, range protocols and much more! Please bring your punch card, a notebook for notes and your questions.
22 – tonight we will be doing a hands-on class for .22 – learning and perfecting positions in the Good Luck Building at the fairgrounds. Please bring your firearm (with CBI, but NO AMMO), your punch card and a small mirror (bigger than a compact mirror but not a wall mirror).

Muzzleloading – Tonight we will be cleaning our muzzleloaders at the Fort Lupton Range. Bring your rifles and cleaning supplies along with your punch card.

Mark your calendars for the Cake Decorating Contest on Saturday, May 30 at the Boulder County Fairgrounds! Registration is at 9:30am with the contest starting at 10am. This contest is open to anyone in the Cake Decorating Project. Registration is required and must be submitted by May 15. The cost of the contest is $6 per person and must be paid prior to the contest. Members must be enrolled in the cake decorating unit in which they are participating. Please look at the rules so you know what is required for your unit. There is a specialty fun class as well for anyone to enter. This class evaluates the best tasting cake and frosting combination. This contest is a county qualifying event for the State Cake Decorating Contest at the Colorado State Fair.

Cloverbud members are also encourage to sign up and participate. For all Adams County 4-H Cloverbuds that register and pay the fee, we will supply the cake, frosting and decorations for you or you can bring your own materials.

There are several FCS related contests that are offered on the state level, including Consumer Decision Making, FCS Bowl, FCS Skill-a-thon and FCS Educational Presentations. Every year at the State 4-H Conference, senior aged 4-H members compete in these contests for the opportunity to represent Colorado at the 4-H FCS National Championships and Conference in San Antonio, Texas as well as the National LifeSmarts Contest. If you are a senior member and are interested in participating in one of these contests at State 4-H Conference, join us for an introductory meeting on Monday, May 11 at 6:00pm in the Extension Office.
