The Brigham City Rotary Club met at noon today at the Boys and Girls Club Community Campus and is now gathering weekly in the Rotary Board Room.

Today’s presenters, arranged by Rotarian Dave Owen, featured Jim Stewart and Justin Sager from Mountain West Patriot Anglers. This inspiring volunteer-driven nonprofit is "dedicated to supporting the healing and reintegration of our nation’s veterans and first responders through the peaceful power of fishing".

We’re grateful for their informative presentation and we're truly impressed by their commitment to serving those who have given so much.

Brigham City Rotary Club spent a few chilly minutes this beautiful morning installing our Rotary Peace Pole at the Community Oasis Wellness Garden in Garland. Rotary has been involved world wide installing peace poles and sharing messages of peace. The Jessica Stokes Wellness Garden in Garland seemed a perfect spot to add Rotary's hope for peace to those who will frequent this beautiful spot.

There is still a lot to do to get the garden ready, including an additional bench that Rotary has also generously donated to the area.

The Wellness Garden is spearheaded by the Northern Box Elder Su***de Prevention Coalition and is located at 350 W 1400 N in Garland. West of Bear River High School, just before the tracks.

Stop by when you get a chance and watch the garden come to fruition and become a quiet place of reflection and healing.

We had the pleasure of honoring two of our very own during today’s special Club Assembly meeting!

Jim and Tere Moore are longtime Rotarians who have each dedicated many years of service in a variety of roles, including serving as Club President—Jim in 2010–2011 and Tere in 2016–2017.

Their commitment to humanitarian service has made an impact both locally and around the world. Two of their most notable contributions here in our community were the Welcome to Brigham City sign on 1100 South during Jim's Presidency and helping spearhead the Brigham City Splash Pad during Tere’s presidency—projects that continue to benefit children, families and our community.

More recently, Jim and Tere made a generous donation to fund the Brigham City Rotary Club Endowment Share Fund, helping establish a strong and lasting foundation for the future benefit of our club.

Thank you, Jim and Tere, for your incredible years of service, leadership, and ongoing support!

We were thrilled to hold a Club Assembly today in our new home at the Boys & Girls Club Community Campus! We’re incredibly excited about this new meeting space and deeply grateful for the warm hospitality—especially to Executive Director and fellow Rotarian JeuneElle Jeffries.

This opportunity was made possible through a generous gift from the Ann Henderson Estate to the Brigham City Rotary Club, which was then donated in Ann’s name to the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Utah.

Ann Henderson was a devoted Rotarian, past club president, and a passionate advocate for Brigham City and Box Elder County. Her life was dedicated to service and education. From teaching home economics in Colorado to her 37-year career as a Family Consumer Science Extension Agent in Box Elder County, Ann impacted thousands of youth through 4-H programs and community education. She later earned her master’s degree from Utah State University and retired as an Associate Professor in Extension.

Ann also played a key role in developing the Community Pro Youth Organization (CPYO), helping address youth needs and contributing to the creation of the Lincoln Center—an important resource for youth and nonprofits in the community.

Ann passed away on March 9, 2021, leaving behind a legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to her community.

We invite you to join us every Monday at 12:00 PM at the Boys & Girls Club Community Campus (650 E 700 S, Brigham City) for our weekly Rotary meeting!

So happy to provide support for this great community program!

On Monday, the Brigham City Rotary Club had the pleasure of hearing from fellow Rotarian Jamie Cottle, CEO of Brigham City Community Hospital. Jamie shared the hospital’s latest impact statement as they celebrate 50 years of serving our community.

It was an informative and uplifting presentation, highlighting the hospital’s many capabilities and its vision for the future.

Thank you, Jamie, for your time, for answering our questions, and for being a Rotarian!

We've had some very informative presenters the last few weeks at Brigham City Rotary weekly meetings.

We meet every Monday at noon at the Brigham City Academy Center downtown.

We heard recently from Bruce Brotherson, arranged by Rotarian Carl Perkins. Bruce shared a presentation that he gave at the National Steel Conference in Atlanta Georgia about Design Thinking and Innovation processes.

We also heard from Club President Ryan Jackson on the production process for OREO cookies. Who knew there was so much involved in the making of a simple cookie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLlB5FxvOJU

And a very interesting presentation from Ian Folau of Baton Strategies, a local Business Broker and Private Equity Managing Partner, arranged by Rotarian Susie Witt. Ian shared a presentation entitled The In's and Out's of Buying and Selling Businesses .. of all sizes, in the real world.

We are grateful for these individuals and their willingness to present and inform our club on a variety of topics.
