I am beyond grateful to have received a first ever gift from our Amazon wishlist! Wonder dust for the horses! Thank you so much Marie!

Pictured here are three owner surrender horses, now sanctuary horses. All with different backgrounds. Two had awesome lives, but one not so happy story. However, the past is in the past and now they can all be together as a herd, with all the acreage they could dream of and hay in their bellies 🥰

Theo and Two saw Dr. Connally today!
Theo did respond to the hoof tester in a specific area and we opted not to do x-rays at this time. We are going to control the pain and hope that the abscess will come to a head! If further treatment is needed, we will move forward.
I'm so happy with Two's progress as with his original exam, he wouldn't let my vet touch him. This time he allowed him to touch his wound! We are going to keep it wrapped for a week (changing once) and then try it un wrapped with a ointment I purchased from the vet. I will keep my vet up to date with photos of the wound and he will come out to remove part of the skin when he feels it is necessary.
Both have a good prognosis for now and I'm crossing my fingers both of them heal well.

A couple of our sanctuary horses are awaiting the vets arrival tomorrow. Two (paint) has a leg injury and Theo has an abscess. I've gone through a lot of vet wrap already, as well as cotton padding, guaze, medical tape, artimud, wonder dust, liniment, dmso and green Epsom drawing salve. If anyone has extras laying around, or would be willing to order it and send it our way, we would be so appreciative 😇 thank you all!

After a significant loss of a person so near and dear to our hearts, financial stress, and limited options at our old facility we took a step back for quite a while. For that I apologize, but we are back with bigger and better dreams to achieve! Starbuck Acres has moved from our little place in Loveland, to 120 acres in beautiful Briggsdale, Colorado! Behind the scenes we've taken in a few owner surrenders and have a few sanctuary horse currently. We plan to continue with animal rescue and start a breeding program for the critically endangered American Cream Draft Horse. Prayfully we will receive the support in order to introduce our first ACD! We are now members of the American Cream Draft Horse Association and the Colorado Draft Horse Association. Our EIN: 87-4444846. We're excited to be back and with a twist! Our website has a few updates, including our mission statement and donation information. I will continue to update things as we get them sorted and be as active as I can on here. ❤
