The Ashley Lauren Foundation Since 2005, we are an independent, NJ based non-profit pediatric cancer foundation working hands on with each family.

We depend on the support of NJ communities to provide immediate relief for the daily burdens thrust upon those who are battling cancer

At just 14 years old, we are beyond saddened to announce that Scottie, of Neptune City, passed away peacefully at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia following a courageous battle with complications from MDS.

Throughout his treatment, his strength and unwavering “can-do” attitude amazed his doctors, nurses, family, and friends. Scottie loved finding treasures at garage sales and thrift stores, fixing (and occasionally breaking!) things around the house, gaming, technology, golf, and especially fishing. A proud Boy Scout with Troop 71, he loved learning, building, and being outdoors. Above all, Scottie was extraordinarily kind and fiercely loyal, and no friendship meant more to him than the incredible bond he shared with his sister and best friend, Adalie. Fourteen years was nowhere near enough, but the love, laughter, and memories Scottie gave this world will last a lifetime.

As Scottie’s family faces the unimaginable task of saying goodbye, we are asking our community to help ease the financial burden of his funeral and final expenses.

No family grieving the loss of their child should have to worry about how they will afford to lay him to rest.
