Over the years, Brielle has been and is currently known for the many, and varied, restaurants that call our town home.
Brielle’s Historical Society is writing an article on the history of restaurants in Brielle. Every other Sunday we are going to put the SPOTLIGHT on one of Brielle’s current restaurants on the “Who Grew Up in Brielle’ page to gather material for this article.
There are several ways that you can help with material for this article:
We’d like to discover the various names of all the previous restaurants that shared the location of the SPOTLIGHTED restaurant;
We’d also like to hear any personal stories or memories that you might have had at the various restaurants that have shared this location over the years, whatever its name was at the time;
Finally, please share any old pictures that you might have of the various restaurants that have previously called this location home.
At the end of the day, we’ll have created a tremendous history of the many restaurants that have called Brielle home over the years!

The Union Landing Historical Society of Brielle is in the process of launching a new website. One of the goals for this venture is to preserve the family stories as Brielle grew from a small town filled with windmills and farms to the thriving suburb that it is today. As part of this effort, we will be publishing a series of articles about the early settlers of Brielle, NJ. We are starting this project with a chapter about the Voorhees family. We had the pleasure of interviewing Susan Voorhees- Montgomerie who grew up on Euclid Avenue in Brielle. Susan is the daughter of John and Ruby Voorhees who came to Brielle in the early 1900s.
