Donation Day at the Book Shed this Saturday!

Join the Friends of Bridgton Public Library this
Friday, June 20th from 10:00AM–1:00PM at the
Book Shed to donate your gently used books, games, puzzles and more to help support your local library.

Donations go toward our annual book sale that happens each summer which helps us keep our shelves stocked and our programs thriving all year long. So come on out and be sure to join us in July

A new week means new reasons to visit the Library!

Join us today as we kick off Summer Reading with this year's theme, Plant a Seed, Read! Reading logs for children, teens, and adults will be available onsite, so come on by! Need help with your device? Tech Help is available this week–call ahead or simply ask the circulation desk to schedule, and Storytime returns for a fun Construction Theme this Friday at 10 AM.

Juneteenth is an invitation to learn, honor, and explore titles for Black History, one of our librarians would be sure to make some lovely recommendations. And be sure to check out our book displays this month featuring titles for Pride as well as Father's Day. Wishing all the dads and father figures in our community a Happy Father's Day this Sunday! 🌿📚

What is STEAM?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math—and at Bridgton Public Library, it’s all about hands-on learning, creativity, curiosity, and exploration.

Our STEAM activities in Youth & Children’s Services give kids and teens opportunities to build, experiment, create, problem-solve, and discover new interests in a fun and welcoming environment. From robotics and engineering challenges to art projects and science-based activities, STEAM helps young learners grow confidence while learning through play and creativity.

Whether your child already loves science and technology or simply enjoys making and exploring, our STEAM program is designed to encourage imagination and lifelong learning for all ages.

Get ready to dive into summer reading with Bridgton Public Library! This year, we're excited to join the iRead Summer Reading Campaign, "Plant a Seed, Read!" and invite readers of all ages to grow their love of reading all summer long.

Summer Reading Kickoff: Tuesday, June 16th. Pick up your reading logs beginning, Tuesday, June 16th, for children, teens, and adults and start tracking your summer reads! For every book you read, you'll earn one raffle ticket toward our end-of-summer prize drawings. Audiobooks, eBooks, and even books you own at home all count—library books are not required!

Important Dates To Remember:
• June 16th – Summer Reading Kickoff, Logs Available!
• August 15th – Reading logs due
• August 18th – Prize drawings at the Library!

Whether you're planting a garden, relaxing by the lake, or enjoying a quiet afternoon at home, there's always time to grow something wonderful through stories and sharing. Join us this summer and see where your next book will take you, all you have to do is read to plant a seed! 🌱

Welcome, June! This heat wave is a steady reminder that summer is finally here at the Library, and we're looking forward to a season filled with reading, community, and connection!

This month we have lots of highlights to look forward to—start with exploring our "Of Interest" sections featuring staff picks for Father's Day and Pride Month. We're also invite you to browse titles in honor of Juneteenth. And don't forget that June is the kick off to our Summer Reading Program! Stop by the Library beginning June 16th to pickup your reading logs and dive into this year's theme, Plant a Seed, Read! We're inviting readers of all ages to join in the fun.

It doesn't stop there—we will be having another Book Donation Day at the Book Shed on June 20th from 10am to 1pm. We're grateful for all the love and community our patrons bring, and your donations help support our programs!

So here's to longer days, lively stories, and a wonderful start to the summer season. We hope to see you at the Library throughout the month of June and all season long!

A new Teen Summer Reading bulletin board has arrived at Bridgton Public Library!

Ray and Grace recently teamed up to create this colorful display, featuring characters from the beloved video game Stardew Valley. Known for its charming world and memorable characters, the game has become a favorite for players of all ages.

Youth are invited to stop by the Teen Room and take a look at the new board during their next library visit. And for those who haven't experienced Stardew Valley yet, Ray highly recommends giving it a try!

Did you know we offer Adult Take-Home Crafts at Bridgton Public Library? Each month features a new themed Grab & Go craft bag, available at the top of the stairs in the Adult Services wing—perfect for a creative project you can enjoy at your own pace, right from home.

Not able to use the stairs? No problem at all. We have an elevator for easy access, and you’re always welcome to call ahead if you need additional support—we’re happy to help make sure everyone can participate comfortably.

Stop by and pick up your next creative project the next time you’re in the library!
