Our Story
The American Legion Riders are a Program of the American Legion. Beyond our love of motorcycles, we are dedicated to raising funds for Charities such as, The American Legion Legacy Fund, Veteran Su***de Prevention and Homeless Veteran needs.
The American Legion Legacy Fund was an existing program of the American Legion that the Legion Riders nationwide took on as their own. American Legion Riders chapters are well known for their charitable work, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children's hospitals, schools, veterans homes, severely wounded service members and scholarships. Since 2006, Riders nationwide have participated in The American Legion Legacy Run to annually raise money for the Legacy Scholarship Fund, established to provide scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel killed or disabled since Sept. 11, 2001.
Our Veterans outreach efforts are evolving in ways we could not have imagined three years ago. From our beginnings to today our Chapter has helped many homeless veterans get off the streets and into homes, helped many veterans get their VA benefits and this year we were able to intervene and stop two veteran suicides. Over all in the last three years we have helped stop five Veteran's step back from the abyss.
