Thank you, Liz!

After almost 28 years as a Hand Spinning and Weaving Demonstrator at Quarry Bank, Liz Carrington has decided now is the time to hang up her uniform and enjoy her retirement.

Liz, whose final day will be on December 31st, is one of only a handful of people in the world who can spin 16 threads on a Spinning Jenny. She is also an expert in warping skills on hand looms and has turned her hand to demonstrating on the cotton processing floor.

Over the last few years, Liz has focussed on training up many newer members of the team to continue to share this incredibly rare skill with visitors.

A heartfelt thank you for all you have done over almost three decades, Liz!
