This week, BCCR came together to recognize Women’s Equality Day and to stand up for the rights, voices, and full equality of women and girls. 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us, held a sign, shared a conversation, or simply showed their support. Progress depends on people who are willing to speak up, listen, and keep moving forward together.

Women’s rights are human rights...and equality is not optional.

🌸 STANDOUT FOR WOMEN’S EQUALITY 🌸

Women’s Equality Day is observed each year on August 26 to commemorate the certification of the 19th Amendment, which recognized women’s constitutional right to vote.

But equality isn’t just something to remember, it’s something we continue to stand up for.

Join Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights for a Standout as we recognize Women’s Equality Day and stand together for rights, justice & action for all women & girls.

📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ 10–11 AM
📍 Sidewalk in front of Walgreens

Bring your voice, your signs, and your commitment to equality. Let’s show our community that we will continue to stand up, speak out & take action.

📚❤️ Stand Up for Bridgewater Public Library! ❤️📚

Our library needs our community now more than ever.

Due to ongoing funding challenges, Bridgewater Public Library remains at risk of state decertification this year. Let's come together to show that our library matters and that our community values free access to books, technology, programs, and lifelong learning for everyone.

📅 Monday, August 10
🕔 5:00–6:00 PM
📍 In front of the Academy Building
66 Central Square, Bridgewater, MA

This stand-out is sponsored by the Bridgewater Library Board of Trustees, with support from the Friends of Bridgewater Public Library and Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights.

📣 Bring your family, friends, and neighbors. Bring a sign if you'd like (or just bring yourself!). Every person who shows up sends a message that our library is worth investing in. Strong libraries build strong communities. We hope to see you there!

Join our community partners for “ICE Out of Plymouth: Protect Our Neighbors” on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility, 26 Long Pond Road in Plymouth. This peaceful call to action raises awareness about the facility’s ICE agreement, reported abuses, and the need for humane treatment of our immigrant neighbors. Together, we can stand for dignity, accountability, and care, not cages.
