Somerset County 4-H We believe the future belongs to our exceptional youth members. This is accomplished by using the knowledge and resources of caring adults.

With guidance and acceptance, we offer our members and community unparalleled opportunities that focus on building leadership, confidence, service, and loyalty. 4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. The 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to enable youth to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to become competent, caring and contributing citizens of the world. The goals of the 4-H Youth Development Program are to:
• Provide informal, educational programs for youth in grades K–13 (one year out of high school).
• Encourage responsibility, community awareness and character development in youth.
• Strengthen skills for adults working with youth through publications and training.
• Improve community partnerships and collaborations.

All are welcome to participate! 4-H members, public, youth, adults
*No entry fee
*Drop off your creation on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 5-7pm at the Ted Blum 4-H Center
*Will be judged on Sunday, Oct. 25 during the Medieval Jubilee event
*Materials can be wide-ranging, but must be handmade!

🌎 Calling all future leaders, diplomats, and changemakers!

Ready to make your voice heard and take on real-world challenges? Join our 4-H Model United Nations (Beginner Level) program!

Youth will have the opportunity to represent different countries, explore global issues, build confidence in public speaking, and work together to find solutions!

📚 Open to: Grades 6th–8th
Zoom Meetings: Mondays at 7 PM (Nov. 16–Jan. 11)
In-Person Program: January 18, 2027 (Location TBA)
Cost: $40 (includes lunch and polo)

4-H AG-VENTURE DAYS: FALL HARVEST



Looking for a fun, hands-on fall experience for your child? Join Somerset County 4-H for 4-H Ag-Venture Days on November 5 & 6!

Youth in grades 1–5 will explore animal science and agriculture through exciting hands-on workshops, farm activities, and farm tours!

Melissa Bright serves as the Somerset County 4-H Agent with Rutgers Cooperative Extension, where she leads youth development programs focused on agriculture, animal science, leadership, public speaking, and career readiness.

This interactive concurrent session will explore practical, creative, and affordable ways to start or expand a greenhouse program.
