Help Us Build a Water Shield for all of are homes:

When a fire breaks out, every second counts—and every gallon matters. Our Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) is on the front lines for you, but to do our job effectively, we need to bolster our water reserves.

We are currently seeking donations of new or used water tanks, as well as funding to purchase additional storage. These tanks aren't just equipment; they are the literal "water bank" we draw from to save your property and protect your family.

Why This Matters for Everyone :
Faster Response Times: When we have strategically placed water tanks throughout our area, our trucks spend less time driving back and forth to refill and more time on the fire line.
Protecting Our Infrastructure: A fire doesn't just threaten one house; it threatens our roads, power lines, and the natural beauty of the Van Duzen corridor that we all share.
Lower Insurance Risks:
Better local fire protection and water access can be a factor in maintaining better fire insurance ratings for the entire community.
Mutual Aid Strength:
By securing our own water, we ensure that when our neighbors need us, we are fully equipped to show up and stay in the fight.
How You Can Help
Donate a Tank:
Do you have an unused poly or metal tank (2,500+ gallons)? Your "extra" equipment could be the reason a neighbor's home is saved.
Contribute Funds:
Every dollar goes directly toward securing vital water storage and the fittings needed to make them "fire-ready."
Spread the Word:
Talk to your neighbors! This is a community-wide shield, and it takes a community to build it.
Our safety is a team effort. Please reach out to us today to help secure this equipment. Thank you for standing with the volunteers who stand for you.

Remember all donations are tax-deductible.

We have responded to many calls for vehicles ir ditches, over embankments, roll overs due to wet slick and icy roads, usually due to traveling at a higher rate of speed. Some hydroplaning. Drive with extra caution and slower during these storms, and their slippery conditions. Plan 5 or 10 minutes extra for vour route. Check vour tires, wipers, lights, increase your following distance. Be the cautious driver
Speaking of your team, t's a busy time of year for BVFD crew members. we have some of the team re- freshing their CPR credentials, some are preparing for the up coming EMT classes and some are prepar ing for the annual Eel River Valley Fire Academy 2026. Good luck to all our crew and thank vou for vour commitment to educating yourselves for your community.

This month we would like to talk safety around christmas trees. If you have a live tree make sure to water it daily and keep all trees atleast 3 feet away from heat sources, fire places and vents. Please turn off lights when going to bed. Those trees can catch fire quickly and take over your living room rapidly. Be safe.
We would like to welcome to new members to the fire dept. Jenson and kathy. We look forward to your commitment to our dept and your community. Thank you for joining.
We would also like to Congratulate fire fighter Jack Jàger on completing the intensive week-long Rope Rescue Awareness/Operations course this month in chico calif.
