Thank you to Eureka Theater for this fundraising opportunity, to continue Dolly's legacy and Imagination Library in our community.

🎬 A Tribute to Dolly Parton – 9 to 5 at the Eureka Theater

We are heartbroken by the news that Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80. She was a true American icon whose music, laughter, and generosity touched millions of lives. Like so many of you, we have loved her for as long as we can remember.

In her honor, we are hosting a special screening of 9 to 5 on September 26 at the Eureka Theater. This is the 1980 comedy that introduced Dolly to movie audiences everywhere, starring alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

The evening will start with a sing along of classic Dolly songs. Our song leader will be announced soon! Dolly costumes are encouraged for EVERYONE. Break out the wigs, the cowboy boots, and the big blonde hair.

This screening is a fundraiser for the Bridgeville Community Center, the local organization that runs Dolly's Imagination Library in Humboldt County. The program sends free books to kids from birth to age 5, with over 1,800 kids currently enrolled. Dolly believed every child deserves a book to call their own.

The Bridgeville Community Center will be tabling in the lobby to discuss the program. Stop by and say hello!

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, over 1750 children in Humboldt County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

Sadly, we lost Dolly, but her legacy lives on in music, movies, and books through the Imagination Library. We give thanks and appreciation for her on-going gifts and blessings.

BridgeFest is this Saturday, August 15th. Festivities start at 11:00. Music, blueberry pies, vendors, saucer toss, alien calling contest, and more. Here is the schedule. Come on down and celebrate 30 years of weird, aliens, humans. Please no dogs. See the signs on HWY 36. There is no construction planned for Saturday. More fun than humans should be allowed.

Recycling crew member wanted - We need a person to manage the recycling. It would just to monitor the recycling. BridgeFest is working to recycle, and reduce the use of plastic and garbage. We would like to eventually be a 0 waste event. You would still have time to walk about and enjoy the event. We had a person but they were called away to work on a fire.
