November is Diabetes Awareness Month! The color blue represents the global diabetes community in response to the rising number of people affected by diabetes! Diabetes affects people’s lives daily, but thankfully with technology, people can manage their health chronically. There are three main types of diabetes: Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes; however, there is much more than just the main three. There are many different types of diabetes.

All the funds raised will go to the JDRF Diabetes Foundation, where the funds will help raise money for research to discover more ways to help patients live a better quality of life!

Ending Breast Cancer Awareness Month by making hats for Breast Cancer Patients for Champions of Hope💖💕💖

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! All the donations will go to “Champions of Hope” a local outreach for Cumberland NJ to help patients of breast cancer and cancer. This organization is about helping patients of cancer with the small financial resources that is needed while going through treatment, such as cooked meals, gas money for treatments, and anyway possible to ease financial burdens on patients.

About 240,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in about 2,100 women. About 42,000 women and 500 men die from breast cancer, according to “CDC Guidelines.”

Some facts that everyone should take a cation of according to MD Anderson
1. Breast cancer does not have to have a form of a lump
2. Having a male relative who has breast cancer increases your chances
3. Maintaining a healthy weight can reduce your risk of breast cancer
4. You don’t need to learn how to do a self exam.
5. Drinking serval glasses of alcohol can increase your chances of breast cancer risk.

Meaning behind the Afghan:
👵🏻My nana had Dementia
🧶She crocheted one of the main reasons I started Crochet Just BeCause!
💜Her favorite color is purple

I started Crochet Just BeCause, to start a meaning to crocheting and causes my family and friends battles or are battling! I wanted to make a goal for 2023 to do an Afghan every month based on an awarness, no matter if we raised money or not! I love designing these afghans, I finally gain creativity! I call this year, “Year of the Granny Sqaures.” Since December of 2022, I knew I wanted to do this for Nana, then I thought my Mommom Nixon, Poppop Bill, and finally Every Month!

August is Immunization Awarness Month
Better late then never right! It took me three times to get my vision! I guess, “Third times the charm” , finally worked for me! Some people may or may not get this month afghan. The idea was for Bandaids! However, a couple family members told me, it reminds them of S’mores! Perfect for the summer time! There are 11 days left to donate! Sorry for posting late!

All the proceeds will go to UNICEF, where the non profit partners with other companies to help vaccinate children all over the world get the vaccines they need! Its not just for Covid, it is for different vaccines, example of yellow fever for the children in Africa!
