Fire Island Senior Invasion 2025
Join us for a fabulous full-day experience in Cherry Grove, Fire Island!

Triangle Community Centerand Bridgeport Pride Center are joining the LOFT (Westchester County, NY) and friends for a Senior Invasion of Fire Island sponsored by the Leonard-Litz Foundation's Silver Connect program! This day-long event provides LGBTQ+ elders (55+) with a splendid opportunity to connect, celebrate, and be in affirming community together in the iconic and historic LGBTQ+ destination, Cherry Grove on Fire Island. Join in group activities around the island or spend your time exploring, dining, or lounging at your own pace.

Wednesday, August 20th: 8:30am Bridgeport ferry departure, 12pm arrival to Fire Island, 5:30pm departure from Island. Estimated return to Bridgeport is between 8:30pm.

🌈 Become a Program Leader at the Bridgeport Pride Center! Support community. Lead connection. Create fun.

Are you someone who enjoys bringing people together, planning activities, or offering support in a safe and inclusive space? The Bridgeport Pride Center is looking for dedicated, community-minded Program Leaders to help run recurring programs and possibly bring fresh ideas to life.

What Does a Program Leader Do?
Program Leaders work in collaboration with Center staff to:
- Coordinate and host monthly events or groups
- Help with basic setup and cleanup
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment
- Communicate with attendees and Center staff as needed
- Bring creativity, consistency, and care to each session

This is a volunteer-based leadership role, perfect for folks who want to give back, connect with others, and make a positive impact in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Calling all LGBTQIA+ musicians, singers, poets, and creatives — come share your voice at our very first Open Mic Night!

Whether you’re performing original music, covers, spoken word, or just want to vibe and support the community, this event is open to all experience levels.

🎧 We plan to be recording video and audio of performances and can tag you when we share on social media - if that’s ok with you, of course!
