I woke up this morning with a heavy burden to intercede for women.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up every woman reading this.

Lord, breathe on:
• her identity
• her mind
• her body
• her calling
• her voice
• her femininity
• her purpose
• her future

I come against every assignment that has pursued women for generations:
• rejection
• abandonment
• abuse
• betrayal
• identity distortion
• insecurity
• emotional exhaustion
• silence in the places she should speak
• shame over her story
• broken trust

I declare: You will NOT live bound by what tried to break you.
You will NOT be defined by what you survived.
You will NOT shrink in rooms God called you to fill.
You will NOT carry shame that does not belong to you.

I speak:
• healing to your wounds
• clarity to your mind
• peace to your spirit
• strength to your voice
• honor to your name
• restoration to your worth
• courage to your assignment

May the Lord restore:
• your voice
• your confidence
• your discernment
• your emotional wholeness
• your dignity
• your spiritual sensitivity
• your joy

I declare:

You are seen.
You are chosen.
You are valued.
You are whole in becoming.
You are not forgotten.
You are a builder of legacy.
You are a carrier of life and wisdom.
You are a generational breaker and a rebuilder.

In Jesus’ name — Amen.

I woke up this morning with the heavy burden to intercede for boys and men.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up every Black man reading this.

Lord, breathe on:
• his identity
• his mind
• his destiny
• his calling
• his leadership
• his masculinity
• his purpose

I come against every assignment that has hunted Black men for generations:
• premature death
• incarceration
• violence
• rejection
• father wounds
• identity confusion
• inner anger
• silent pressure
• emotional suppression
• spiritual attack

I declare: You will NOT die before your time.
You will NOT be caged mentally, spiritually, or physically.
You will NOT be silenced.
You will NOT be broken.

I speak:
• strength to your shoulders
• clarity to your mind
• healing to your soul
• power to your voice
• dignity to your name
• fire to your purpose

May the Lord restore:
• your roar
• your authority
• your confidence
• your leadership
• your emotional wholeness
• your spiritual discernment

I declare:

You are needed.
You are powerful.
You are chosen.
You are a pillar.
You are a king.
You are a generational curse breaker.

In Jesus’ name — Amen. - ©LCA

🎤 We Are Not Our Ancestors… or Are We?

Spoken Word by Request

We are not our ancestors—
That’s what they say,
As if our grandmothers didn’t know how to pray.
As if our grandfathers didn’t fight with fire in their bones,
Just because they didn’t film it on their phones.

They didn’t march for likes—
They marched through dogs, whips, and fire hoses,
Laid their bodies on lines,
While the world stayed silent and the law decomposed it.

We are not our ancestors?
Then who are we—
If not the children of their bravery?
If not the echoes of their midnight weeping,
The fruit of the harvest they sowed while bleeding?

No—we are their continuation,
Not rebellion, but revelation.
We are the voice they choked down in cotton fields,
The justice they dreamed when the world refused to yield.

They resisted in hush harbors,
We speak from the stage.
They knelt in fields,
We legislate with rage.
They wore shackles,
We wear robes.
They were silenced,
We compose.

So don’t dishonor their legacy with short-sighted pride,
Their silence wasn’t weakness—it was strength in disguise.
They played the long game.
Whispered through bars.
Prayed down empires.
Named us stars.

We are not them?
Beloved, we are the ones they saw in the Spirit.
They couldn’t finish the race, so they birthed us to clear it.
We don’t stand on platforms to cast down their pain—
We stand to finish what remains.

So the next time you say:
“We are not our ancestors”—
Say it with clarity.
Say it with honor.
Say it with legacy.
Say:
“We are what they dreamed,
What they carried,
What they birthed through the scream.”

We are their victory.
Their vengeance.
Their voice.
And their vow.
And we’ll tear down every wall they prayed would fall—
Starting now.

On Juneteenth, DT remarked that there are “too many non-working holidays” in America—an ironic statement from someone who has never worked a day in public service with integrity. His comments reveal a deeper sentiment: an unwillingness to recognize Juneteenth as a legitimate celebration of Black American freedom.

If the concern were truly about unnecessary holidays, then perhaps consideration should be given to removing holidays like Columbus Day, which commemorates a false narrative of discovery, or reexamining Presidents’ Day and the Fourth of July—days that have historically excluded the full scope of American freedom, particularly for Black Americans.

Singling out Juneteenth, a day that marks the emancipation of enslaved people, suggests an intentional effort to diminish Black history and its rightful place in the national story.

President Trump took to his social media platform on Thursday to say that there are "too many non-working holidays in America."

His comments came on Juneteenth, the federal holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.

The customer was well within her rights to decline remaining in an environment where racial disrespect occurred. Any company that permits racially insensitive behavior—especially in the presence of a Black customer—demonstrates a serious lapse in respect and professionalism. Conversations regarding Juneteenth and reparations were wholly inappropriate in her presence and should never have taken place in a service setting. If the customer expressed frustration, even with strong language, while requesting the return of her vehicle under such circumstances, it is understandable and not unjustified. No individual should be expected to pay for a service while simultaneously enduring disrespect.

We must stop diminishing ourselves to make others comfortable with a facade that doesn’t reflect our true identity. People will either love you, align with you, or they won’t—and that’s okay. - LCA
