A special moment with one of our longtime clients from Bridgeport office, who stopped by to pick up his Green Card renewal after more than 10 years as a valued client of our immigration office.

He expressed his gratitude to Maria Palacios and our Immigration team for assisting with the consular process that helped him immigrate to the United States from Jamaica more than a decade ago. Years later, we were also honored to help with the immigration process for his teenage daughter.

Stories like these remind us why our work matters. Thank you for trusting our team through every step of your family’s immigration journey. 🇺🇸💚

For Catholic Charities Immigration Services, every success story is a reminder of why we do this work.

A green card case has been successfully completed for a very grateful legal permanent resident. What may seem like a simple document represents so much more. It restores peace of mind, strengthens identity, and opens the door to new opportunities.

With the dedicated support of our Thomas Merton Family Center staff, this guest was guided every step of the way, ensuring the process was clear, supportive, and successful. Now that his green card has been secured, the next goal is already in sight. If possible, we will work together toward U.S. citizenship.

On this journey toward belonging and stability, we are proud to stand beside those we serve as they build their future here.

Today we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the patron saint of immigrants and the first U.S. citizen to be canonized a saint.

Born in Italy in 1850, Mother Cabrini devoted her life to serving immigrants, the poor, and the sick. After coming to the United States, she founded schools, hospitals, and orphanages to support those seeking new beginnings in a foreign land.

Her legacy continues to inspire our mission at Catholic Charities: to welcome the stranger, serve with compassion, and uphold the dignity of every person.

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, pray for us, and for all who journey in search of hope and a better life.
