“The overarching story very strongly suggests that your socioeconomic status is a very, very strong predictor of your outcomes across apparently all of these test scores … that generally speaking, with very few exceptions, if you are economically struggling, you are also likely to be struggling with your test scores,” Dias said.

CT Insider compiled school-level test score data to see how performance varied across the state.

Barry Knott, a Stratford-based attorney appointed as the property's receiver, said Wednesday that he was "not surprised" by the FBI's presence. He said he was aware that an investigation was going on.

"Obviously something was wrong, I was happy to see the authorities were investigating, and cooperated with them to the extent I could," Knott said.

Photos shared with CT Insider showed law enforcement officers in bullet-resistant vests marked FBI.

The 2026 GOOD TROUBLE AWARDS recognizes Rosana Ferraro and Rabera Sharon of the Universal Healthcare Foundation! 💚💙🧡💛🩷

The Universal Healthcare Foundation stands out among Connecticut philanthropy for their deep commitment to truly being in community with their grant partners, providing multi-year grants and advocacy support to grassroots organizations (like us!) who are addressing diverse issues like housing justice, food insecurity, economic inequality and roadblocks to democracy— all key drivers of health inequities.

🌟 Rose is the Program Lead for Health Justice Policy Advocacy. She supports the Foundation’s policy, advocacy, and grantmaking priorities to achieve accessible, equitable, affordable, high-quality health care for all. Rose has participated in Gen Now’s Undoing Racism training and attended our Bridgeport Anti-Racism Collective meetings.

Just prior to working at Universal Health Care, Rose completed an internship at the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities in Washington, DC, as a Fisher Cummings Fellow from Columbia’s School of Social Work. She received her BA from Yale University and graduated from Columbia with a Masters of Social Work, with a focus in Social Policy. She is originally from Puerto Rico.

🌟 Rabera is the Program Officer for Health Justice. She believes in the power of cross-movement work for greater impact because social justice issues are interconnected. Rabera had been a key supporter and partner of Bridgeport Generation Now’s vision for a just, equitable, livable and democratic city for many years!

Rabera has worked in the non-profit sector for over a decade. She has worked with feminist grassroot organizations in Sub-Sahara Africa working to address Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights around the continent. Rabera has also collaborated with various organizations across the state working on a range of social justice issues.

THE 2026 GOOD TROUBLE AWARDS Recognizes Donna Curran, a longtime Bridgeport political activist. 🩷💚🧡💙💛

Donna Curran was born and raised in Bridgeport and has lived in her home in the Black Rock neighborhood since 1989.

Active in politics since she was 18 years old, Donna has spent her life passionately advancing the privilege and right to vote as the bedrock of our Democracy.

At just 26 years old, Donna ran for the Fairfield RTM. As a Bridgeport voter, she ran for State Representative once; City Council, twice, and Democratic Town Committee Challenge primary, once. Two victories delivered her to the City Council and onto the DTC.

In her own words, Donna is someone who has painfully and personally experienced the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,” the “thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat,” and has a knowledgeable interest in protecting democracy’s rights and privileges for all.

Donna’s bravery and resilience, as a woman in Bridgeport politics committed to ethics and good government (at a time when neither were very popular) stands as inspiration and a source of courage for us all!

Photo #2 is Donna in the 2nd Grade at Barnum School!
