What an amazing experience for our Tango Flight Bassick High School students! ✈️

They had the chance to attend a special program at the Sacred Heart University IDEA Lab—collaborating and learning alongside college students in an engaging, real-world environment.

We extend our thanks to David Maass for delivering an insightful and inspiring presentation on the role of aerospace engineers. His discussion spanned an impressive range of projects, including helicopters, commercial aviation, space shuttle trainers, and more. Equally impactful were his practical career insights.

Opportunities like this highlight the power of shared knowledge and mentorship—helping to guide and inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals.

TangoFlight, where S.T.E.M. takes flight, receives several recognitions after first flight of its Vans RV-12iS built by Bassick High School Students in Bridgeport, CT. Steven Blume, the program teacher received the “Elizabeth M. Pfriern Civic Leadership Award” for inspiring generosity and personal investment to improve public education and student outcomes. The Arthur & Gladys Lunin Humanitarian Award was presented to Tango Flight Inc. in recognition of outstanding public and community service to the Bridgeport Public Schools, and Congressman Jim Himes presented the Certificate of Special Recognition to Tango Flight Partnership. Tango Flight is supported by First Aviation Services Inc. which launched the program at Bassick High School in 2021 with mentor volunteers from the Fairfield Country community. They are now on their second build.
