Thank you to all the participants at our High School Convening sponsored by National Partnership for Student Success, Horizons GFA and Horizons Bridgeport!

Thank you for engaging in lively conversations and playing with lots of dots and sticky notes!

This was just the first conversation centered on understanding all the incredible resources we have in Bridgeport for high school age youth today and what more support and skills may be needed for youth to thrive. There was joy and determination in the room. As a group of community partners we are trying to think creatively and work together to build a brighter future for students and families in Bridgeport.

HSHU believes strongly in the power of community and citizenship. Students and staff explore HSHU community values and participate in weekly project work that celebrates the Horizons and Bridgeport Community by bringing the history of the Bridgeport community to life-- understanding the past to feel prideful and hopeful about Bridgeport’s history. All HSHU students and staff members contribute to this community mural—together we learn more about ourselves and the WE to which we belong.

Thank you Officer Dominic Ebert from the Monroe Police Depart for visiting Horizons Notre Dame. We learned so much!
Thank you to the Fairfield Firefighters and EMS workers from American Medical Responders of Fairfield. We loved learning all about how these first responders keep us healthy and safe. And the Ambulances and the police cars were fun to see. And it was exciting when the ambulances had to leave for a 911 call.
