Our EDGE 2.0 Program had their workshop on May 22nd at the Liberty Science Center. Staff and students had the best time with all the animals and innovations we learned about. We want to personally thank Mary, Andrew, Jess, and the rest of the staff at LSC for making this event so amazing, and going out of their way to show us support!

We would like to thank Tomas Bustos for joining us for our Visiting Artist Series Workshop on Thursday March 28th to describe his creative process to our staff and students. His organization Masterpiece Relief for the Blind seeks to bring the love and experience of art to people of all visual ranges to enjoy.

Tomas Bustos is a renowned artist from Dallas, Texas, who has been painting since a young age and has over thirty years of experience. Bustos has worked with various mediums including watercolor and oil, but has been inspired to produce cast iron replicas of famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa and Starry Night for the visually impaired and blind community to enjoy! These works are tactile in nature and literally rise from the background so that people can touch them and actually feel the painting.

Below is a link to his artwork, which describes the artwork and significance behind them.

We will keep you posted about his upcoming show in New York.
