Today is WORLD SOCIAL WORK DAY🌐 My name is Deborah J. Holliday, Founder of Bully Alarm. I am a social worker. I am not a traditional social worker. I do not get a paycheck for my social work. I do social work everyday in my personal corner of the globe. I build community, I raise awareness, I empower, I counsel, I encourage, I educate.....sometimes in a group, sometimes one on one. The trauma of 9/11 inspired my graduate studies in social work. My thesis research on bullying revealed my passion for social justice and personal empowerment that is the foundation of all my current endeavors. I spent 10 years as the founder of Bully Alarm, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and changing school culture. I spoke to over 1000 students, presented at Monmouth University, and did a workshop for UMDNJ with my colleague, Phil McCabe. Today, my social work looks different. I talk about crowns, and mirrors, and makeup. These are simply the tools I use to teach women how to redefine their relationship with the mirror and love themselves just as they are. To see themselves crowned and glorious. To value their worth and cherish their own contributions. This is my style of social work & I love it! I am a social worker and an INNER IMAGE REVOLUTIONARY because I believe beauty begins from within! I am dedicated to helping you find your crown!👑
