Dear Club members,
Hope all of you are doing well and enjoying your gardens.
After the exuberance of summer bloom, we usually experience a significant drop in bloom during the fall season. The fall season sees our gardens feature fading colors and a limited choice of flowering plants.
However, as fall season also provides many perennial gardening opportunities, and - more importantly - gardening design and maintenance requirements.
There are many perennial plants, trees and bushes to enjoy during the fall season. Also, arranging various types of foliage (including tropical looking cold hardy plants) into esthetically pleasing combinations is as important for our gardens as is bloom.
Having this in mind, a workshop for Club members will be held in my garden (422 Aurora Dr, Brick NJ) on Saturday - October 10 at 3 pm (rainy day back up - Sunday - October 11 at 3 pm).
During the workshop, we will examine various gardening opportunities such as:
- foliage diversity and its combinations (both coniferous and broadleaf plants)
- tropical looking cold hardy plants
- fall blooming plants
- aromatic plants in the perennial garden as repellents agains harmful bugs (ticks, etc.)
- ground-cover plants and organic mulching as w**d prevention in flowerbeds
- cost and time efficient flowerbed expansion
- fall season fertilization (lawn & flowerbeds)
- flowering bulbs planting (middle & late fall)
- any other questions you may have about fall garden maintenance.
Thank you in advance for your feedback and interest in the workshop. Email me at [email protected], or text at (609)977-0514 to RSVP.
Best,
Yuri Mischenko
