Escambia County Alabama 4-H

Escambia County Alabama 4-H 4-H is for youth and 4-H is fun!

Through 4-H and the opportunities it provides, members have the ability to participate in many events and activities, as well as travel the country, and meet new friends. 4-H is the youth development component of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. 4-H helps young people from rural and urban areas explore their interests and expand their awareness of our world while providing opportunities

to develop a greater sense of who they are and who they can become–as contributing citizens of our communities, our state, our nation, and our world. This mission is achieved through research-based educational programs of Alabama A&M and Auburn Universities and an ongoing tradition of applied, hands-on/minds-on experiences, which develop the heads, hearts, hands, and health of Alabama youth.

We are so proud of the six incredible students who have been part of Escambia County’s growing 4‑H pigeon program! On May 2, 2026, they hosted Escambia County’s first‑ever Youth Pigeon Show at O’Bannon Park. A huge thank‑you to Jay Turner and Brad Stuckey for providing so much support throughout this year and helping make all of this possible.

These young people have worked hard, learned new skills, and shown amazing dedication — and we couldn’t be prouder of them. If your child is interested in joining 4‑H or learning more about pigeons, contact the Escambia County Extension Office at (251) 867‑7760. We’d love to welcome more youth into this exciting and growing program!

Looking for a fun and creative way for your child to spend part of their summer? Our 4‑H Summer Day Camp will take youth back in time as they learn traditional heritage handcrafts — the kinds of skills passed down through generations!

Campers will get hands‑on experience creating unique projects they can take home, all while learning the history and craftsmanship behind each activity. It’s the perfect blend of creativity, culture, and summertime fun.

Such a great way for youth to get involved! Join us on April 27th!
