Thanks to Snowy Owl for installing a very nice bike rack at its new location in Brewster. I used it last Thursday. While some may despair that the new location isn’t as close to the Cape Cod Rail Trail as the old location, it’s still very accessible and safe to bike or walk to it from the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Just follow Underpass Road from the trail to Main St. Bicyclists, Walkers, and others can use the sidewalks along Underpass Road to quickly and safely reach the new Snowy Owl location. Bicyclists also have the option of using Underpass Road, but are allowed to use the sidewalk if they feel it’s safer for them. Please yield to pedestrians and watch for drivers leaving businesses along Underpass Road.

The water filling station on the Cape Cod Rail Trail at Long Pond Rd (RTE 137) rest area in Brewster is on for the season, so you can enjoy awarding winning Brewster water while using the trail - your animal friends can as well see the water bowl on the backside of the station. Thank you to Paul Anderson and his crew at the Brewster Water Department for turning the water on and thank you for Susie Johnston and the DCR Nickerson State Park for installing it last year. Great job keeping the amenities along the trail available for thousands of users.

Come join the Brewster Bike Fest today Saturday, May 16. Bring your bike. Bike checks done free and learn to load your bike on a Cape Cod Regional Transportation Authority bus bike rack. RTA will have a trainer and a bus to show you how.

Happy National Bike to School Day!

We work to educate aspiring young bike riders throughout Massachusetts on biking basics and bike safety. We reach elementary, middle, and high school students alike through Bike Safety classes and Bike Rodeos, as well as through our collaboration with the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Program to have instructors available to teach youth courses statewide.
