Brett Warren has a lot going on as she returns for the third time for a residency in the third year of the JHWS. She is anticipating the release of her new book Broken Alive and is preparing for her upcoming poetry and art collaborative exhibit “BothAnd” at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Much like the duality of nature, “BothAnd” encourages viewers to engage in the binary of the world as well as the coexistence and interconnectedness we find ourselves intertwined with. A collection of her poems are available on her website. https://www.brettwarrenpoetry.com/ Good luck with the show and congratulations on the forthcoming book, Brett Warren Poetry!

Some call Mother's Bog just another abandoned Cape Cod cranberry bog, but this one was named after local legend Louisa Crowell (born in 1852), who circumnavigated the globe by clipper ship and greeted Abraham Lincoln in Boston. Last harvested in 2005, her namesake bog is now home to more than 25 species of bird, with white-tailed deer, digger bees, and antlions leaving signs that they frequent this recovering area. Blueberry bushes, lambskill shrubs, rushes, earth stars, swamp maples, tupelos, and sassafras trees call this place home. Join us as we look for clues that nature has returned to its pre-cranberry bog state. Led by naturalist Phil Kyle. Friday, June 5, 9 am, Mother's Bog off Slough Rd. $20 Register: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/dRioDaeBQPDbhGHr0KPSuw
