S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast

S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast GIVING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS SNARR Northeast was started in 2011 and is run by Courtney Bellew. We rely solely on donations as a 501c3 non-profit.

We are based out of New York but geography does not stop us when it comes to rescuing! SNARR saves the toughest dogs to place; those with serious medical conditions, deaf and blind dogs, severely emaciated dogs, the animals that nobody else wants; the dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. We also save perfectly healthy animals as well...there are countless lives and innocent beings who need our

help. Courtney Bellew, of Westchester County, NY visited the Manhattan Animal Care & Control Shelter and came across a special dog named Frankie, a deaf Pit Bull. There was just something about him, the look in his eyes, his calm nature…something that made her say: "I need to help THIS dog!” With a full house of her own dogs, Courtney began posting on Facebook for a rescue group to step up and legally take responsibility of Frankie while her and her husband fostered him. After volunteering for a few months, Courtney realized she had truly found her passion and SNARR Northeast was born. Donation can be sent:

Millie is a 4-year-old, 90-pound bundle of love who is healthy, happy, and full of personality. She is truly the definition of a cuddle bug and would be perfectly content napping on (or as close to) her person for hours on end. If you’re looking for a dog who believes personal space is optional, Millie is your girl.

She enjoys daily walks, a good run, and loves engaging puzzle toys that keep her smart brain busy. Millie is athletic and playful, especially when it comes to a fun game of chase, but she also knows how to settle and relax once she’s home. While she is food motivated, her true motivation is attention and affection—she lives for love from her people.

Millie is smart, goofy, communicative, and endlessly loving. At home, she transforms into the ultimate snuggle companion, curling up as close as possible and happily climbing into your lap despite her size. Millie is a delightful, affectionate girl who would thrive in a home ready for equal parts adventure and couch cuddles. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a big heart (and an even bigger snuggle game), Millie is ready to meet you.

Meet Mildred 💛

Mildred is a friendly, happy 2.5 year old girl with a soft personality and a great little wiggle butt when she greets you.

Mildred is just perfection. This little girl is wonderful with everyone and everything she meets. She enjoys playing with and being around other dogs. She's great with cats. She loves children. She is what you would call the total package of perfection.

This sweet little pocket pittie loves to maybe have someone throw a ball or play with her furry friends and also completely content laying by your side and watching a good movie and of course getting all the snuggles and kisses she can get. Mildred actually has to start her day the cutest way, insisting of getting hugs from her family.

At around 40 pounds, she’s a really manageable size—easy to handle and easy to include in day-to-day life and would bring so much love and happiness to any family lucky enough to welcome her to their home.

If you’re looking for a well-rounded, friendly dog with both a gentle nature and a bit of playful energy, Mildred is definitely one to meet! 🐾

Ripple is a sweet, sensitive boy who started life with more uncertainty than any puppy should.

He was found as a stray in South Carolina alongside his three littermates, and together they made the journey north to New York in search of better days. One by one, his siblings found their forever homes… and somehow Ripple is still waiting — through no fault of his own.

Now, Ripple is currently staying at our shelter in Brewster, New York, dreaming of a home to finally call his own.

At 1 year old, Ripple has his whole life ahead of him. He’s smart, gentle, and affectionate, with a playful streak that keeps everyone smiling. He loves using his brain, enjoys learning, is a dream to train, and thrives when given mental enrichment and positive interaction.

Ripple can be a little shy at first when he's around new people — but with patience, kindness, and consistency, he blossoms into a loyal and loving companion.

Ripple would love a home where:
🐾 He gets plenty of playtime, exercise, mental enrichment, and cuddles on the couch
🐾 His family understands he’s still building his confidence and is willing to give him time to get comfortable and settle in
🐾 He can continue growing through training, structure, and guidance

Ripple has so much love to give and is just waiting for the person or family who will give him the chance he deserves. 💙🐶

King recently found himself out of time at an overcrowded shelter in NYC with his hope just about to run out. After spending 8 years living with a family, one day they decided they could no longer care for him, due to no fault of his own, and surrendered him... then they just walked away. Heartbroken and confused, King's world was turned upside down.

This poor boy didn't to see the end of the road, so SNARR decided to take him in and give him the second chance he deserved. Now safe in a loving foster home, we have to tell you, King is such an amazing boy!

A true friendly and social dog, King is always excited to meet someone new and loves to be with his people. He's a fantastic companion dog, so loving and just the most amazing cuddler. He finds comfort laying next to or on you, a typical pittie, he doesn't believe in personal space and prefers to be touching at all time... and he has an adorable soft snore.

King enjoys going for walks (and walks well on the leash), sunbathing in the backyard, and chewing on squeaky toys and bones. He's very food motivated and has yet to try a food he doesn't like.

He's gentle and sweet with a big block head, and an even bigger heart. King listens well, is smart, and is eager to please. King is truly a good boy who deserves to know the comfort of a home to call his own. Are you the forever family King has been patiently waiting for?

🚨 EMERGENCY PLEA FOR SNOW & HER UNBORN BABIES 🚨

Right now, a tiny little, innocent, mama named Snow is fighting for her life.

Snow is heavily pregnant, but her fragile little body is struggling to survive the pregnancy. She arrived in critical condition, and heartbreakingly, she is not even stable enough to undergo emergency surgery. Every moment matters as we rushed her to the ER in desperation, to stabilize her and give both Snow and her unborn babies a chance.

When Snow’s family rushed her to a local veterinarian, they were faced with an impossible reality; they could not afford the thousands of dollars needed to save her. The alternative was unthinkable.

We simply could not stand by and watch this sweet mother and her precious unborn babies ALL lose their lives because of a lack of funds.

So SNARR stepped in. As we often do.

Snow is now at the ER and is being hospitalized; receiving intensive, life-saving care. But the costs are already mounting into the thousands, and we need your help immediately.

Tonight, Snow’s future and the future of her babies, hangs in the balance.

Please, if you can spare even $5, $10, or $20, it could help us continue fighting for this tiny mama and her babies. Every donation, every share, every prayer matters.

Snow doesn’t know she’s become the center of an emergency rescue effort. She only knows she’s scared, she’s hurting, and she’s trying her best to hold on.

Please help us give Snow and her babies the chance they deserve.

❤️ Donate now.
❤️ Share far and wide.
❤️ Help us save this little family.

Meet Leo — the total package in a handsome, fluffy coat! 🐾

This confident and laid-back 1 year old guy is as sweet as they come. Leo is a big fan of chewies, squeaky stuffies, and chasing after his favorite ball. He’s always up for a little playtime, but he’s just as happy lounging by your side, soaking up the love.

Leo absolutely adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s a dream on a leash and is already mastering his basic cues like sit, stay, and heel — smart and polite! He’s also crate and potty trained, which makes him even more of a catch.

If you’re looking for a best friend who’s the perfect mix of chill and playful, Leo is your guy! 💛

Hi there! My name is Jewel, and I might have a little wobble in my step, but don’t let my specially-abled legs fool you—I’m all heart and happiness! I tippy-tap with my front paws and flash my biggest smile every time I see my favorite humans, showing them just how thrilled I am to be with them. Scratch me behind the ears, and I promise to be your best friend forever!

My journey started on the tough streets of Houston, TX, where I was found with partial paralysis in my hind legs. But since then, I’ve made so much progress! My skin is fully healed from the road rash, and I’m getting stronger every day. You should see me zip around the yard—I might surprise you with my speed!

I’ve been waiting patiently for over three years for my forever home, and even though I’ve been through a lot, my heart is open and full of love. I used to be a bit nervous around other dogs, but with the help of my amazing foster family, I’ve been building confidence. I even made friends with their Corgi and some other dogs while out and about!

My foster family calls me their “spazzy, happy girl,” and they say I have a whole lot of love to give. If you’re ready for a best friend who’ll brighten your days and show you just how resilient and joyful life can be, please give me a chance. I can’t wait to share my love with you!

Finding the words has been hard. Our sweet Kody. Our stubborn, silly, sweet, stoic, bossy boy. We are so sorry.

Last week, Kody was outside doing what he loved, playing and enjoying the day when, out of nowhere, he stopped walking and began dragging his back legs. We rushed him to the veterinarian, where he was diagnosed with ANNPE.

From that moment on, our incredible staff and volunteers at the adoption center poured everything they had into his care. His days became filled with medications, crate rest, assisted walks in his Help ‘Em Up harness, bladder expressions, enrichment, and endless love. Every single person was rooting for him.

Then on Sunday, Kody started urinating blood. We immediately brought him to Guardian, where he was diagnosed with a severe urinary tract infection. More medications, more treatments, but we finally had an answer and hoped we were moving in the right direction.

Yesterday, we knew something wasn’t right. Back to Guardian we went. And this time, our boy never came home.

Kody was suffering from a septic abdomen. His condition was critical, and we didn’t know if he would make it through the night. Faced with the impossible, we chose to give him the greatest gift we could: the dignity to leave this world surrounded by the people who loved him.

We cried. We hugged him. We shared stories. We thanked him for every smile, every stubborn moment, every laugh, and every ounce of love he gave us. And then we said goodbye.

Today, our hearts are shattered. The adoption center feels a little quieter. A little emptier. But we find comfort in knowing that Kody is no longer in pain. No longer struggling. No longer suffering. Run free, sweet boy. Chase all the squirrels. Soak up all the sunshine. And know that you were loved beyond measure.

If you would like to honor Kody’s memory and help us continue caring for dogs like him, please consider making a donation in his name. His legacy will live on through every life your generosity helps us save. Rest easy, Kody. We will miss you forever. 💔
