S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast GIVING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS SNARR Northeast was started in 2011 and is run by Courtney Bellew. We rely solely on donations as a 501c3 non-profit.

We are based out of New York but geography does not stop us when it comes to rescuing! SNARR saves the toughest dogs to place; those with serious medical conditions, deaf and blind dogs, severely emaciated dogs, the animals that nobody else wants; the dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. We also save perfectly healthy animals as well...there are countless lives and innocent beings who need our

help. Courtney Bellew, of Westchester County, NY visited the Manhattan Animal Care & Control Shelter and came across a special dog named Frankie, a deaf Pit Bull. There was just something about him, the look in his eyes, his calm nature…something that made her say: "I need to help THIS dog!” With a full house of her own dogs, Courtney began posting on Facebook for a rescue group to step up and legally take responsibility of Frankie while her and her husband fostered him. After volunteering for a few months, Courtney realized she had truly found her passion and SNARR Northeast was born. Donation can be sent:

If you’re looking for a puppy who wants to be your little sidekick, Iris may be the perfect match.

At 5 months old, Iris is a sweet, affectionate shepherd mix puppy who loves being close to her people. Whether she’s following you from room to room, curling up beside you while you relax, or simply keeping you company throughout the day, Iris seems happiest when she’s near those she loves.

Like any young puppy, Iris is curious about the world around her and eager to explore. She’s playful, learning new things every day, and discovering all the fun that puppyhood has to offer. She approaches life with a sweet nature and a desire to be included in whatever is happening around her.

Since arriving to New York from Texas, Iris has been adjusting well to family life in foster and continuing to build her confidence. She enjoys being where the action is and is quickly learning the routines and expectations that come with being part of a home. Like all puppies, Iris will need continued training, socialization, structure, patience, and love as she grows. In return, you’ll get the joy of watching her personality blossom and the opportunity to build an incredible bond with a puppy who already loves being part of a family.

Meet Buster! Buster is a sweet almost 3 year old terrier mix who is looking for a special person willing to give him the time and patience he deserves. He may take a little while to feel comfortable and show you his true personality, but once he trusts you, he has so much love to give.

Buster would thrive in a quiet, calm home where he can settle in at his own pace without a lot of chaos or commotion. He does well with most other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion around. Because of his sensitive nature, we feel he would do best in a home without young children.

A secure, fenced-in yard would be a wonderful bonus for Buster, giving him a safe place to sniff, explore, and enjoy some outdoor time. Buster isn't looking for a perfect home—he's looking for a patient one. Reyna’s story is one of resilience, courage, and an absolutely unbreakable spirit.

At just 6 months old, Reyna was abandoned outside the NYC ACC—left tied up, alone, frightened, and in pain. When she was found, she had an untreated broken leg and was fighting parvo, a life-threatening illness that is especially dangerous for puppies.

Thankfully, Reyna made a full recovery from parvo, but sadly, her injured leg could not be saved. Today, she is a happy, healthy tripod—and honestly, you might be surprised by just how fast and effortlessly this girl gets around.

Now one year old, Reyna is a 40lb feisty, funny, full-throttle little firecracker who is determined to get the absolute most out of every single day. She's a real-life Sour Patch Kid: a little sassy, a little sweet, and completely irresistible.

Reyna often goes zero to full speed in approximately 2.5 seconds—romping around, wrestling with her canine friends, chasing after toys, playing fetch, tugging, exploring, and generally making sure she doesn't miss a single moment of fun. She loves squeaky toys, bones, puzzle games, pretty much anything she can get her paws on. She's incredibly food motivated, and she's a smart, eager learner who is always ready to figure out what you're asking of her.

As with many young pups, after giving life everything she's got, Reyna will crash spectacularly and decide that the only reasonable place to recover is curled up in your lap. She loves being close to her people. She'll squeeze herself into the tiniest little spot beside you on the couch or in bed, somehow convinced that her compact tripod body belongs in whatever six-inch space you've left available.

This little girl has already been through more in her first year of life than most dogs will ever experience. She could have let those experiences break her. Instead, she seems determined to squeeze every ounce of happiness out of every day.

Gumby is a bright, athletic 3 year old pup with all the best traits of his border collie roots—an active mind, a love for movement, and endless potential to be your ultimate adventure buddy.

This handsome boy isn’t just energy—he’s smart, too. Gumby earns an A++ in training and already knows an impressive list of commands, including heel, sit, stay, down, touch, come, and even “go to bed.” He’s completed SNARR’s training program, so he’s coming to you with a strong foundation and ready to keep learning.

Right now, Gumby spends his days at the Adoption Center, enjoying playgroups with his dog friends and occasional outings with volunteers. But what he really deserves is a home of his own—one where he can stretch his legs, engage his mind, and truly thrive.

Gumby would do best in a quiet adult only home with a fenced yard, where he can safely burn off his energy and settle into a routine.
