We have received another email that the Trenton Animal Shelter has been given orders to start killing dogs for space due to money. So we wanted to share…..Can you please help Angel? She has 72 hours left. Please let me know if you can help Angel. 609-851-8659

Dear Potential Adopter,

Ruff, Ruff! My name is Angel, and I'm writing this letter to tell you why you should consider adopting or fostering me. I may be an older girl, but I promise you, I have so much love to give.

Let me start by telling you a little bit about my past. I was a throwaway mama, abandoned and left to fend for myself. But that's all behind me now, and I'm ready for a fresh start with a loving family like yours. Despite my difficult past, I have so much love and loyalty to offer.

I absolutely adore going for walks. There's something about exploring the world around me that brings me pure joy. If you enjoy leisurely strolls and taking in the fresh air, I'm the perfect companion for you. Walking with me is not only good for my physical health, but it also creates a strong bond between us.

While I may not be the most playful pup, I have a heart full of love for people. I thrive on human companionship and will be your most loyal and dedicated friend. Whether it's cuddling on the couch, going for car rides, or simply being by your side, I will always be there to brighten your day with my gentle presence.

I should mention that I prefer a quieter environment, so older kids would be the best fit for me. Loud noises and commotion can make me a little nervous, but with a calm and understanding home, I will feel safe and secure. I may also be selective with other dogs, as I can be a bit intimidating around them. However, with proper introduction and management, I'm sure we can work things out.

I've been waiting at the shelter since July, dreaming of finding my forever home. It gets lonely here, and I yearn for a family to call my own. I promise to shower you with unconditional love, gratitude, and companionship if you give me a chance.

So please, consider opening your heart and home to me, Angel. Together, we can create a beautiful bond and fill each other's lives with love and happiness. I'm ready to embark on this new journey with you, so let's make it happen!

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I hope to meet you soon and become a cherished member of your family.

With a wagging tail and hopeful eyes,

“Stromboli” is up for adoption and a foster home is needed ASAP. He is 1yrs old, neutered, UTD on vax’s, heart worm negative, & on HW/flea/tick prevention. He weighs 48lbs and probably needs to gain 5 more. He is a big snuggler, loves people, plays well with other dogs, great with cats even when they don’t like him:). He jumps and does not have great house manners but aims to please so we feel he will be easily trainable. When found wandering, he was very skinny, did not know how to climb stairs, unfamiliar with car travel - jumping into a car did not come easily for him - but was very friendly. Our guess is he was chained up and lived outside. Please feel free to share this.
He is currently in Georgia and foster family is willing to transport him anywhere along the east coast. DM me for details! TY

Spent some time today touring https://www.waywardranch.org/. Such an impressive place. Got to hang with some pot belly pigs and scratch their bellies, view the horses, cuddle with some goats and visit their cat room that did not smell bad…like I said, very impressive!
Inquired about their “underdog program” in hopes of getting our Kobe in there but no luck. I will diligently continue with the “Kobe crusade”, in hopes of finding this guy his forever home. He’s been with us for over a yr which is just too long to be in a rescue.
I also highly recommend taking one of the tours offered at this sanctuary! They do great work!

What to say?.. As I sit down to write this update on my animal rescue, I am keenly aware of how uncomfortable this is for me! But because it's "Giving Tuesday", I know this is the perfect time to inform everyone that Rosy's Rescue has some exciting and heartfelt changes happening soon, donations are needed to keep us going, and with kindness & gratitude, we move through it all!

In The Beginning: "Rosy's Rescue" began as an offshoot of Roosevelt Veterinary Center via a partnership with Dr. Glassman and me back in 2020. Since then, Dr. G has had to pull-out of the rescue as her veterinary practice has expanded and become increasingly busy making her ability to participate in the rescue impossible. Although I will continue to use Dr. Allison Glassman and Roosevelt Vet for the rescue'd animals care, we feel a name change is needed to truly establish the rescue as it's own entity. Soon, we will have our own website and will not be piggy-backing off of Roosevelt Vet's website. We think this will make it easier for folks to understand who we are and what our mission is!

What's In A New Name? As many of you already know, I've recently suffered two heartbreaking deaths in my family. The first being my niece Alicia -- a lovely young woman who left behind two beautiful children and many animals -- who was a true lover of animals and a dedicated Veterinary Technician. In honor of her I've decided to call the rescue, "Aunt Wendy's Rescue", because "Aunt Wendy" is what she called me:(
Her Dad, my brother Chuckie, recently passed-away suddenly, leaving an excruciating whole in our family. They were both simply good people! So the "new" version of the rescue will allow me to continue to rescue the furry lives in need and bring joy to those who adopt them, while I simultaneously honor both my niece and my brother!

Manifesting This...: Eventually we'd like to have a "storefront" where the animals live until they're adopted. A place where they safely (dogs) spend much time outside playing in fenced-in areas (think doggy daycare for rescues), where daily walks are a constant, and their living space resembles a home as opposed to a kennel. Our goal is to start the training process with love and patience, while they journey through their adoption process. Kitties will have their own space too, where they can play within safe confines, and not be kept in small cages while they wait to be matched with their forever family.

In A Perfect World: This structure will also be a coffee house, where visitors can hang-out and make appointments to meet, walk and play with the dogs/puppies/cats/kittens. Adoptions can be done throughout the day, everyday!!! In the evening, the coffee house will be closed to the public but be used as a safe-place for organizations such as AA to gather and host meetings.

In The Meantime: We will continue to foster all of our rescues at our home in CT, - as a doggy day care for rescues, and kitty haven upstairs in our barn. (Yes, I vacuum and mop A LOT).
Thanks so much for reading this. The new website will be auntwendysrescue.org but it's not up and running yet.

Meet “Teddy”! This 18 month Mountain Cur / Lab mix is up for adoption. His current owners are not able to care for him properly so rather than neglect, they’ve reached out to us for help rehoming him. He is a healthy neutered boy, that is seeing the vet this week to get up-to-date on vaccines. His perfect home will be active as he has a lot of energy. He weighs 42 lbs and he is absolutely ready to find his new people. Please spread the word…. 🐾
